I work 5pm-whenever the work is done which is usually anywhere from 3am-6am and I've been known to enjoy a brew right after work. Hell, most people get out at 5, so my "5 o'clock somewhere" just happens to be at 3 or 4 in the morning. Also, can't beat a nice IPA with an egg sandwich for breakfast.

I started the morning beer because of insomnia. Up since 2 or 3 am means that it's a long day. As I was learning to pair beer with food, I would taste the beer I had for the day around 10:30 am and then do my lunchtime cooking. I like to do my cooking during the day rather than in the evening. Lately as I am trying to lose weight I am not having any until late afternoon.

For me there is no moral issue to drinking in the morning. I don't generally because I love my coffee too much. If I ever get my hands on one of those breakfast stouts, I will be all over it though! Having said that, though, I did have a Yuengling with my eggs a few weeks ago, at about 9:00 am.

Recently, I've been having a few around 11:00 am on Saturdays. Saturday mornings are my down time, the wife is at work and kids are all off doing their thing, so I kick back with a few beers and a cigar about this time. That's about three hours from now

My rule for myself is noon, with the exception of vacation or beer fest/release. During the week I don't have a chance to get beer until after work (4, 5, whatever) but on the weekends I just make sure it's after noon... or at least close to it.

You have the same work schedule I do and my wife often wakes me up accidentally at 2 or 3 am on weekends. I simply cannot get back to sleep, so I get up, I do things. By 10am, I am definitely ready for a beer. I will still wait until noon, simply to have a beer with lunch with my girl, but my mouth is watering for that first Hop Nosh of the day.
I will say, however, that on these days, I tend to stop drinking earlier in the evening. *shrug*

I try to be conscientious about my beer drinking so I usually don't drink before 3 but, I will have an occasional beer with lunch. Whenever I judge home brew competitions I wind up drinking from about 9 o'clock on but, it's usually only sample sizes.

If I have a beer I hadn't drank before I may drink it before or with lunch. After 2 PM otherwise. When I was on the midnight shift when I got off work .

Can totally relate - I am always dissapointed to see that some of the world-class breweries in ohio city dont open their doors until mid-afternoon. This effectively removes the lunch crowd of parents who have already knocked out their chores for the day and are ready to knock back a few brews...

Doesn't sound like you need to worry about this situation. You seem to get more done in 6 hours than many people get done in a week. You earned that AM beer, sir.

To me, AM/PM are meaningless as drinking goes anyway; it's all about my "waking hours", which is typically a no-alcohol zone up to 5 hours after waking.

Came home from kids soccer game and knocked back a blakkr around 10:30. Did some yard work. Probably a nugget nectar with lunch and at some point before dinner....parabola cause I'm on a mini vacation and it's calling my name.

Sounds like you're responsible and have everything done, so by all means, enjoy your beer guilt-free!

Sometime's I'll start my day with a coffee or chocolate stout/porter. I used to have a Kalamazoo stout with polish sausage.

To quote Homer Simpson, "Can't a man just drink alone on a Wednesday morning in peace?" I've started drinking earlier than 10 without acomplishing anything and never felt guilty about it.

My work and family responsibilities have intruded on my personal time at all times of the day. Due to those commitments the only time I have for beer is afternoon or late evenings and even then upcoming tasks restrict the amount if not eliminate beer drinnking period. But let me have a day where all the chores/responsibilities are done and I'll show you some serious drinking, the time of day be damned
