And one of these (yeah, it's an old image of the old label):

This afternoon while hunkered down in our snowstorm.

Two great renditions of two great styles at different spectrums in the lager catalog.

Love how the pilsner malt is front and center even though this one is 30 days past its 'Best-by' date.

Isn't Radeberger one of those with an 18 month best by date?

Don't know. There was another set of hard-to-read numbers on the bottom of the can, so I'll try to figure them out.

That other set of numbers is displayed in a very light white color just above the date that I decided above was probably the 'Best-by' date of 10/25/25 (a little brighter white). This second set of numbers is also a logical date format and is 07/25/24, so maybe there is a 15-month 'Best-by' period. So this beer is still a month past that date.

A version of TipoPils brewed once a year with hops harvested in September and used in the brewing process very fresh (within 24 hours of harvest).
On tap at the pub (33cl for €5).
On the nose, moderate notes of meadow grass dominate over those of baking.
Bright golden color, crystal clear. A head of head lingers on top of the beer, not disappearing even after drinking.
On the palate, it's a light-to-medium-bodied beer, with a carbonation that I would have expected to be a little livelier.
The first aroma you notice is that chlorophyllous herbaceous note typical of freshly picked English meadow grass, without any fruity notes or particularly distinctive aromas, a fresh herbaceous note, not too bitter, but very refreshing (and thirst-quenching).
The sweeter malty notes come in later, rounding out and softening the beer with hints of breadcrumbs, complemented by a smooth honey note that rounds out the finish without any harsh edges.
An extremely drinkable beer that highlights the traditional German hops, with balanced herbaceous notes and a gentle bitterness rounded out by malty notes.
A very pleasant drink, it remains classic and satisfying, but certainly quite different from the "basic" TipoPils, where, for me, it's the bready notes and the dry finish with residual bitterness that make it recognizable.

My brother-in-law brought me a few cans of Bierstadt at Thanksgiving.

The beer is extremely well-made and well-balanced. If I'm being a bit critical, I'd like to see it have a bit more malt heft. I'd happily be a regular buyer of this if it were in my market.

Another tasty offering from Bierstadt. Dark-toasty bread crust with some light chocolate notes. A good take on a Munich-Style Dunkel.

I haven't had this one in forever. It doesn't seem to get a lot of love, but I remember thinking it had great malt character.
