It doesn't work. The agency in charge of beer in my state only really cares about underage sting operations and the $$$ it brings in penalties. They have been made aware of things and not acted on it, but you can bet the minute I start bending/breaking rules the hammer will come down.

Yeah, I definitely wouldn't recommend stooping to their level. Some of the state agencies in my neck of the woods are much more reactive and will nail places for this stuff too. Others have bigger fish to fry. It's too bad yours fall into the latter group.

Sorry for jumping down your throat about it, I try to keep myself chill when creating these threads and all too often get other members with less sympathy for the question being posed and are quick to be dismissive because "do you know how many threads already...years of the same...search the forums for answers...why do you care..." types of responses I get. I love the vast majority of BAs I've had the pleasure of meeting, and then there are...well...others. Again, my apologies and thank you for your input.

With distributors I’d guess it would make sense to simply follow the money. It’s what they live and breathe, whatever they do they’re maximizing profits above all else. How that fits into your situation I haven’t a clue, but they’re not leaving a nickel on the table, it’s going into their pocket.

Beer distribution is a very political arena. As a former distributor there were lots of times we had inventory that could be sold to a small number of customers and very quickly. Sometimes there was such broad demand for a flavor or brand that it was necessary to allocate quantities to customers across the state of North Carolina. This was always the most difficult aspect and finding a fair way to allocate the goods was paramount. Maintaining good relations with the great majority of customers is a requirement for a good distributor. It is very political.
