I'm pretty sure reading somewhere that they acclimated their water to match the water in Harrisburg.

I tried a bottle of it yesterday for the first time and thought it was a great beer. I really thought it was an IPA and was surprised to hear the style. But we're talking Imperial Amber here, so it's got some IPA qualities to it. This would be my go-to beer if it was on draft here and Founder's Reds Rye wasn't.

Do you guys know if they're still planning on doing the whole "Two major releases" of Nugget Nectar or if I should just grab a case now? I wasn't sure because of the varying bottle dates. A friend of mine had shared a six pack of it with me and I, of course, loved it, but would rather jump on one of the later batches for maximum freshness if possible.

I just had a NN bottled 2/14 and 2/20 side-by-side. The 2/20 was WAY more malty than the 2/14...there is something wrong with the hop profile...tastes like a different beer completely.

According to the 'beer guy' at the store I frequent the most (Canal's in Mt. Ephriam NJ), they did a small release first and will do a larger release in a few weeks. He said he got 10 of the 35 cases he ordered; the balance will come in the second shipment. He also stated that Troegs was using both the Harrisburg and Hershey breweries. I had thought they moved, but he said they are still operating the original brewery.

That helped explain why a couple of places around me have already sold out when last year they actually put cases on discount to move them (about 2 months after release.)

My case was either 2/20 or 2/21, and tastes great.

They are no longer in the harrisburg facility in any fashion since January.

They have about 4 cases or so at a Brian's Wine & Liquor Emporium in Piscataway NJ.

Any leads on more shipments hitting the market? I was hoping to pick up another case today in Pittsburgh, but my local distributors didn't get any in with their shipments(Troegs stuff would've arrived to day). I'm finishing my case as I type this. Mmmm.

I am pretty sure they said the next shipment should be hitting distributors sometime soon. Don't quote troegs on that, but it is what I have heard.

Philadelpha area (including New Jersey, Delaware, Lehigh Valley) wholesalers will receive Nugget this week.

Pittsburgh, Central New York, Mass gets part of their shipment this week and the balance next week.

Ohio, Maryland, Virginia, and remainder for the three markets listed above are the week of March 19.

We should be done shipping Nugget Nectar by the middle of the week of March 26.

Bought a case this past Monday at the Brewery. Not sure if they have any left at this point or not. This case is damn tasty! :grinning:

Thanks for the info! I'll be on the look out the next couple of weeks, then. I also had another question that you can probably answer. NN is available for a much shorter amount of time than, say, Sunshine Pils. Is it simply a matter of you guys brewing the same amounts, but since NN is much more popular and grain to bottle time is shorter, it doesn't stay around as long, or is less NN brewed for some reason?

My six pack of NN is very different then the NN I drank last year. My beer is very bitter. The NN I remember from last year had a unique "sweetness" to the flavor. I can smell some of that flavor I am looking for but it is still very bitter. I don't think my taste buds changed that much in a year. I am going to wait a little while then try another six pack. I hope I am not disappointed again.

My friend at Beer City North Babylon LI said no second shipment is coming. Is he serious? I didn't hoard any during the first round and now I fear it is too late...

Perhaps your friend is just misinformed. Or he knows different and he's just not that good a friend.

If Gary's got ANY, it must have gone quick. i never saw it there at all this year. But if you're in the wayne area, Valley Wines and Liquors still have about 3 cases but that was as of last saturday. although, ive found that that place gets overlooked sometimes and stuff hangs around there longer than other places.

As far as another drop in NJ, i've heard from multiple places that they'll get more next week. For example, Wine and bev depot in totowa got 25 cases a few weeks ago and is expecting 25 more. @jeremythebitter, not sure bout NY but NJ is definitely getting their 2nd drop next week and after that
