Let's talk about Nugget Nectar!

Bought a case at the beer yard today

 

It's all over Lanc. Co.

 

Thanks, got a 6pack of it (bottled 021012) and also a bottle of maharaja at valley wines and liquors today

They still have 3 cases plus a few 6packs

 

Troegs still has a decent amount of NN at the brewery as of 3/17/2012.

 

Wegman's in Downingtown has about 3 more cases (12+ 6 packs) bottled 03/13/12 as of noon today

 

Beer Yard had so much NN outside that you can barely get in the front door around it. WF Devon also is selling 6ers.

 

Why would anybody get excited about such a massive release?? I mean, my local Whole Foods gets FIFTY cases of this... if you don't get any Nugget Nectar or are nervous about getting some, you might as well move to Africa and live in a cave drinking water from the stalactites.

 

Oh great since we all live next to your local Whole Foods! Yes it isn't like trying to find some KBS but the distributors around me sell out immediately and out of about 10 trips to Wegmans since it was released last month I have seen it twice.

 

Anyone seen the 2nd drop yet in any North Jersey stores?? there's still some from the 1st batch hanging around but i want the freshies.

 

BIG difference between the fresh and the 2/14 batch. I had both back to back

 

Picked up a 6 pack in Brooklyn last week bottled 2/21. This is my first time trying it and I think it's really good. The first sip I actually thought well hmm this is pretty ordinary, over-rated.. then maybe as it warmed up a bit from fridge temp and I kept drinking it, it seemed to get better and better. A damn good beer, and if this batch is not up to par then I can imagine what up to par NN must be like.. drool

How so? good or bad?

 

Wegman's mechanicsburg received a much smaller amounrt the second time, maybe 10 cases vs. the 40 or 50 the 1st release. Also was on tap at Brewhouse and Al's. I will tell you the biggest difference is between draft and bottle. On tap it is way, way more expressive! Amazing how the craft world has grown. I remember the 1st time Isaw NN was at Westy's several years ago, was only in bombers, and had the price reduced to sell before it got too old....was a much gentler time

 

haha totally. 2 years ago, place by me got 100 cases. couldn't get rid of it all.....this year 30 cases gone in a little over a day.

 

Just picked up another six-pack from Wegman's last night, bottled 3/13/2012. Hopefully this is better than my 2/20/2012 bottles...

Literally twice as good. The older bottle didn't have that sticky, bite that makes you dying for another sip.

 

damn now i'll have to be on the lookout for more!
