Your thread shitting was pretty out of line. let the crickets speak. It's one thing to offer supportive advice if it's way out there say someone offering shelf beers for a one off Loon or BA Darklord, but you straight out attacked someone. To each their own, but you look far worse in the BCBVS ISO than the original posters offer. Sometimes it's best to just mind your own business.

Thanks for presenting and tell me what you would like in return. Otherwise we can mixtail something that would we could do to a feeble attempt.... fun regardless.

I don't want to drink any of the beer that I trade for. It ruins the mystique.

This is the very definition of threadshitting.

I only "present" during IP trades in order to win "extras". But if you've never had my favorite BT variants, shoot me a bm next time you're planning on visiting the Bruery and I'll crack my last bottle.

    Also WAY TO 2012 BRO!

For the most part serial threadshitters seem to be noobs who just don't get it yet. I think some are well-intended and foolishly think they are being helpful, while others have very transparent ulterior motives.

Quite frankly threadshitting is not even a real problem anymore. Before it was treated as a serious thing, there would be hardly a single ISO/FT post that didn't have some form of comment on it, and massive blown up threads were de rigueur. Now? The front page only has about 5-10 posts with comments, and only a couple of those are even threadshits.

Here's an example of my point. We have a good experienced trader who says trade $4$, but he does take Bottle Count, Availability, and Reviews into consideration, and with all those factors equal, you have a fair trade.

I think the value argument only becomes skewed when someone's constantly trying to trade up. From the OP's example, Heady for Hunahpu is a trade I would never offer. It would be like me trying to trade Zombie Dust for Hunahpu. It's a great beer, but their perceived value isn't even in the same ballpark.

If someone has Hunahpu and wants some Heady though, it's not unreasonable for him to expect a little more than $4$ because he's already being generous by making that offer.

Figuring out perceived value is really simple to guys who want to be fair and leave both parties happy. They understand the community aspect of beer trading. It's the guys who want to treat the trading forum like a classified ad who are constantly confused.

It's the only time I've posted something like that, as I've never felt it was my place, but I think it was knee jerk because I instantly thought he was looking for a sucker...I'm not trying to justify it as it was harsh and out of line. I mentioned it in this thread twice so as not to omit any pertinent info.

You know someone mentioned ulterior motives earlier also, I never thought of the idea that locals would threadshit in an attemp to puinflate the perceived value of their limited releases etc...crazy.

My rules for replying to trade offers:

    1. Reply only if adding useful info such as bottle counts, distribution info, etc.
    2. Keep your opinions to yourself unless the OP asks for them. If the offer is bad, the OP will find out when he hears crickets.

It's not even always locals - it's sometimes even major nationwide semi-limited releases. I couldn't count the number of times I've seen somebody question a locals for KBS/BCBS type of deal. Like, those are both massive 100,000+ bottle count annual releases - they should trade for anything without question. Yet you'll still see people say "man my store was limited to 1 4-pack of $28 BCBS so you should be able to get more than $20 in locals...". It's just people pumping up their own trade chips...

The psychology of it is funny. I wonder if that works for anyone. The only BCBS I "traded" for this year I got shipped for almost nothing above cost. If you traded over $4$ locals you're a sucker.

Trading implies that you no longer have it.

BA DL has a really successful, invested disinformation campaign. There are thousands of bottles, yet people ask for multiples of smaller-release, equally-rated beers from similar caliber breweries. Sometimes from years ago. It's mind-boggling. Gotta pay to play tho.
