Weihenstephaner is always a choice that I can go with whenever I'm in a pinch. They make beers that appeal to many beer drinkers. The Hefe is a classic and the benchmark for the style. Their Vitus is in the same category. The Original is something that I believe any beer drinker could enjoy. It's an easy drink with enough flavor to keep us craft drinkers satisfied.

Weihenstephaner is awesome! But I prefer Schneider more because they do some new stuffs too like Tap X or so... If you love Weihenstephaner Hefeweisse, try Franziskaner or Schneider Tap 4 or 7. They were very nice in my opinion

Korbinian is one of my favorite beers. Vitus is great too. Weihenstphaner is awesome.

I love Weihenstephaner's various weissbier, but it's the Original that really stands out for me, though I don't drink it all that often, because I'm awash in fresh Helles from Victory, Stoudts, Sly Fox, and so on.

Getting a chance to throw a few back fresh from the brewery outside of Munich was one of my highlight experience while I lived in Germany for a work assignment last year!

My girlfriend begrudgingly looked on as I ordered a couple of bottles of every single style they had available, and a case of the heffeweiss.

Such classic and crisp styles, exact what one might expect from the oldest brewery on earth :grinning:

A beer bar near me usually does $4 Vitus, and another bar owned by the same people do $4 pints of Pils for happy hour. I usually get my fair share at both.

Their hefeweizen and dunkelweizen are brilliant, as is Vitus, though it has been quite some time since I've had it. I haven't tried their Original helles, but I'm waiting to see it relatively fresh to give it a go. Korbinian is also on my to-do list.

Very tasty stuff. I've bought some since I've moved here and revisited them in my older reviews, I guess I need to buy some other's, if I see them.

    Cheers!

Great post. first time I had Vitus I was blown away by its balance and taste. They are such a strong brewery that gets lost in the hops - barrel aged - sour - fruit soaked world.

The fact that the Hefeweizen still garners a 4.4 overall rating, and is 116th on the top 250 list still blows my mind. It speaks volumes about Weihenstephan as a brewery.

To make it even more impressive is the fact that it's not imperial, sour, barrel-aged, and/or hoppy. And finally, it's an import that is likely rarely consumed fresh in the bottle (admittedly you do find it on draft at many beer bars, which may be fresher).

Also add the fact that their Hefeweizen, Dunkelweizen, and Kristalweizen are all number one for their style, with the Original and Vitus coming in at number two for their respective styles. Not to mention that some of these styles are very difficult to brew well without worrying about freshness being an issue, and that their beers have been ranked this highly for as far back as I can remember (been here since 2004). How many times has the number one IPA changed hands in the last 12 years?

...their fucking Hefeweizen that travels across the world in God knows what conditions is a 4.4 out of 5 in an IPA world...incredible.

Ive yet to have anything from them. I probably should. Ive seen MANY threads and my stores carries 3-4 different veers from them. I guess because hefe is not my thing because of banana likeness and i do not like banana at all

Truly outstanding! Hefeweissbier, Vitus, and Korbinian are among the best beers I've ever tasted. I just bought a bottle of Kristalweissbier and I'm really looking forward to it!

Love them, in fact a go to nearly every weekend if I'm cooking. I crack an original, a Vitus, or whatever open and enjoy it while cooking.

If people pass up on them because they are not super hopped, or BA'ed or whatever, then I'm glad that it leaves more on the shelves for me
