Unless it's transitive, then it's Melanoiden. :grinning:

Keep in mind that Trumer US is in the 20k bbl/year size last I heard. Not so big.

Sadly! I still have to take twenty hour road trips to get it! :grimacing:

Looks like the Trumer web site has a decent beer-finder, for those interested.

Fortunately, you have some good ones to fall back on!

I hate those damn "beer finders" - just give me a list of each state's distributors! (Both, of course - even better).

Wow, even smaller distribution than I thought- "middle of the country" only by skipping over every state other than CO and TX to get to the Land of Lincoln.

Those two words should never be used in the same sentence.

I think of those as Bocks.

Helles Bocks to be more exact.

I like 'em because they pinpoint retailers to their addresses. Didn't know I had Trumer so close to me!
Yeah, I was surprised to see how limited it was, but maybe the east coast gets imports direct from the Austrian brewery?

I understood. I guess there's just not enough product for country-wide distribution. I'll just drink Trumer while visiting the western US. It's a good beer, but there is no shortage of those!

Well full discloser, I was in Prague on my honeymoon - so that could have influenced how much i enjoyed it. I can only speak from personal experience when I say that i was an IPA drinker prior to Prague and have regularly included pilsners, Kolsches, and other lighter lagers into my drinking repertoire post-Prague.

I unfortunately did not see the varied creaminess of head options - next time.

Should have happened by now. People still remember the old brewery and where it was located. Maybe they should forget about Providence and go back to Cranston somewhere.

Or set up shop in, ya' know, Narragansett?

With a tourist crowd in the summer and a college crowd the rest of the year they'd probably do well with a nice brew pub if they went in that direction.

They probably tried Narragansett already and failed. Just guessing. Makes sense to want Providence.

Regardless of how good Pilsner Urquell was at some point in the past. The Pilsner Urquell for sale in the USA now is a excellent beer.

I haven't chimed in on this back-and-forth, but I have to point out something that most probably don't realize about Herr Stahl. The man is spoiled. And I say that with respect because we've been friends for a long time. But he lives in a beer paradise compared to most of us.

Dennis is right, Pilsner Urquell is damn good to us, but Stahl can swing a wet coat and hit good breweries that would put most of our micros to shame -- at least when it comes to well-made lagers and other German-style beers.

I rib him all the time because he has a penchant for slamming beers outside his more independent breweries, but I'm also jealous because he doesn't have to buy a beer from a large conglomo, or conglomo-owned, brewery. I really want him to experience my neighborhood for a year -- maybe we can swap jobs sometime.
