Let's Talk Pumpkin...

That's very good to hear. I haven't had Rumpkin since batch 1, but I am really looking forward to PumpKYn!

 

Rumpkin is already out in Austin. Picked up a sixer over the weekend

 

Not sure about Pumpkinator, but Rumpkin should still be around. I found some at South Lamar wine and liquors and live oak market.

 

Pumpkinator will be released 10/13. Not sure if Austin is the same day.

 

Rumpkin hit at several places last week around Thursday I think. Most places sold out quick.

 

Just had the Wasatch Black O lantern and at first I was worried as it had quite the rubbing alcohol taste. But as it warmed it balanced out. It was ok I guess. Wouldn't buy it again.

Also had the new Nebraska Wick for Brains and it was awesome. Crazy sessionable pumpkin ale. Awesome can glass design. WIll be buying a few more sixers.

Had Pumpkin Massacre and it was a great and easy to drink pumpkin beer. I bought a couple.

Had a batch 2 Rumpkin and it was still a boozy mess to me. Won't be buying a fresh one but I will go after Pumpkyn.

 

Is PumpKYn hitting Austin too?

Were these fairly easy to pick up? I'm heading up there this coming weekend, and am hoping to find those and grab a few black eye at the brewery.

 

They had them for sale at Avery, and at pretty much every decent store I went to in town (Mr. B's, Argonauts, etc.). Shouldnt have a problem

 

I liked Rumpkin a lot. PumpKYn is very spice forward and boozy. It has great flavor but like most of Avery's really big offerings it is incredibly boozy. Rumpkin is definitely the smoother beer on alcohol burn and spices.

 

Just tried Upslope's Pumpkin which is showing up and I was pleasantly surprised. Better than a number of pumpkin beers out there.

 

Did I read correctly with a 1 case limit on Pumpkinator?

 

Yes, at midtown Spec's. Last year it was no limit and 200 cases were gone in 35 minutes.

 

People go that crazy over it. Damn!

 

There is a 4 bottle limit at my shop. Good to see the price didn't go up.

 

It's effing pumpkinator. Anyone want some 2013? I still see some on the shelf at a shop near my house.

 

Hopefully, since I saw about 6 cases at a low volume store today, it will be around for a good long while (like Wine Barrel Noir)
