So, first off, who's all going? It's always a great time, a great crowd, and we look forward to it every year. I grew up and live in this part of the Hudson Valley, and think it's great that such a fun event is more or less in my back yard.
That being said, this will be my 8th in a row, and I'm leaning towards it being my last. $75 with tax this year. We always get a hotel room, and make a weekend of it, even though Hunter is about 20 minutes from my house. We're paying almost $200 a night for a room this year, which to me, is goddamned ridiculous, especially considering that just about everywhere has a 2 night minimum.
Sorry if this is a bit of a rant, but I mean EBF is what, $55? Same for the ACBF? $35 for the VT Brewers Fest? How much will TAP be next year? $80? I can't be the only one that finds the whole thing a bit excessive price wise.

But the cost of *insert beer ingredient here* went up again.

Oh, wait, they don't pay the brewers for product, nevermind.

This will be the second for me. Great event. The food included is nice too. Im assuming the high price is to rent out the lodge??Kind of sucks Other Half will not be attending. Looking forward to Finback,Bacchus,Singlecut,Barrier,Crossroads,Good Nature. Just to name a few.

The fact that it includes food makes it worth the money IMO. I do agree with you on hotels in the area forcing a two night min. It's not ski season, man, you'd be empty otherwise.

Yep, was planning on going anyways but when Binghamton brewing decided to put a bus trip together it was a no brainer. Can't wait.

Other half isn't attending? I know they confirmed they were coming... did something change?

Gonna pass this year. Considering most of the breweries bring 'off the shelf' offerings to TAP, I lost interest.

Are they posting a list of which beers each brewery will be pouring?

I don't believe they did last year. It was a show up and find out event.

Other Half is attending! They confirmed after my other post. You get a list of beers at the gate

Including food is what makes it worth the money to me as well, with no food I'd probably not attend. I'll be there tomorrow (Sunday) which is usually less crowded than Saturday and seams to really thin out by the end of the day. But with Sunday also comes the risk of beers running out...

It's been a few years since I've been so I'm looking forward to it.

Went yesterday, 7th year going. I must say it might be my last as well, possibly. Not even so much the admission price but just the sheer mediocrity of the beers. I dumped more then half my pours, not all because I didn't enjoy them but it was too much of a pour for what was worth drinking. I feel that nothing stood out to me, the ones I enjoyed the most are reputable breweries with good beers (Rushing Duck). Maybe I'm alone in saying this but a majority of NY brewers need to step up their game...

Well I must say my opinion differs, Sunday was probably one of the best TapNY experiences I've had. I was worried that being Sunday the breweries would just have their normal offerings, but I must say that there was much more than I was even capable of trying.
