Just noticed tonight that they sell growlers...I think it is cool.

Just curious as to how they fill them and if anyone here has bought any growlers, and if you have, if youve had any problems

    Cheers

Ok, the first growlers they started sending seemed to have problems leaking, so they pulled them for a while. Now they are saying they are redesigned. I'd wait and see how they do. The old ones plastic bottles I believe counter pressure filled. New should be the same but able to hold up better during shipping.

Still have plastic growlers? Or did they change that?

    Also, thanks for the info

I'd let them work out the kinks on this one before ordering one.

    tangent: 11.50 for pumking? ouch.

They are still plastic soda like bottles. Got one last week and was very disappointed. Beer tasted horrible. I know it was what Green Flash Citra Hop Session should've tasted like. It tasted like an over carbonated, stale Heneiken.

It's too bad bc Let's Pour has some good stuff with decent deals but I'll never do a growler from them again.

That was supposed to say wasn't what Green Flash was supposed to taste like. EDIT

I want to try the mystery one they posted today. They gave away it was 100 IBU and 100 on BA and RB, so it could only be a few beers to choose from. And the first 3 to get it right get a free howler.

No "almost" there. They are plastic. The first batch was plastic but more like a traditional growler and they had leak/blowout issues. So they switched to different vendor--as they put it, the new ones are essentially soda bottles. The guy from LetsPour was on an earlier thread and gave a blow-by-blow account. Does anyone even bother tracking things down before posting any more?

Piggybacking on VW's post just above mine, this thread might be of some interest to people.

Also, I placed an order today for a few bottles, including a growler of GF Citra Session IPA. As noted, there may be some risk due to the old bottles blowing out, but the fact that LetsPour was aware of and actively worked on a solution gives me some peace of mind for the new growlers. Even if I have a problem, they have responded well to issues with shipping, so I have no doubt I'd be reimbursed.

I'll try to remember to come back here and report my results with the new growler.

As long as you go in understanding shipping is added into the price of whatever you are looking at, you don't buy any 12oz bottles and only order things outside of your distro it's really not.

Considering every beer is 4-5 dollars over normal cost and unless you buy 6 shipping is added too I'd say yes that's over priced. And I know how much shipping is I ship things a lot heavier than beer.

If you buy six bottles, LetsPour's prices are no different than buying and shipping a beer at regular price.

But as has been mentioned ad nauseum on this thread, the trick to getting your value from the site is buying six bottles or more and not buying anything except beers that don't distribute to your local market. If you do that, it is no more expensive than any other site.

But hey, I don't mind people thinking LP is overpriced, because it helps ensure that I have a better chance at getting my hands on the high demand beers that they get.

If you buy less than six bottles from Letspour you should be checked for mild ******ation.
