Levante Brewing in West Chester PA is having their first bottle release this weekend. I love these guys. Their beer is great and everyone I've met involved with the brewery has been extremely cool. Here are the details pulled from their facebook page.... Levante Brewing will release 642 bottles of "Bullitt Train" our Bourbon Aged Imperial Vanilla Stout (9.5%). This series was aged in bourbon oak barrels for over six months and was bottled, labeled, marked and dipped in burgundy wax by hand. One bottle has the label upside down. If you end up with this, it's the "golden ticket" and you'll receive a "swag bag" with over $100 in Levante merchandise. * $18 per 22oz bottle. * 3 bottle limit per customer. * Doors will remain closed until 12pm. * Bottles are sold in series. ie: #331, #332, #333 * Entrance via the Levante Brewhouse, no entrance to the release via the Levante Taproom.
My buddy who knows the Brewers joked he was gonna show up at 6am. I might swing by after 12 if the line doesn't wipe it out.
Between this, the F&M release, TH's anniversary and Sole's can release it's gonna be a busy day for beer nerds.
i was finally in the area the other day and they were closed, unfortunately. i think there will be a PBW event with them, so maybe i'll get to try then.
For a first time bottle release, this was very well run. I got there at just about noon, about 80 people in front of me in line and I had bottles in hand before 12:30. Pleasant, personable people working there, some free samples to people waiting in line (I was too late to have one), and a fun "upside down label bottle" that earned a guy about 10 in front of me $100 worth of swag. These days, especially on the internet, it's too easy to focus on the negatives. I just wanted to take a minute to say---well done Levante!
Agreed with the above, very smooth operation they're running. Only recommendation is they open up a second POS machine to speed up the process. First time there and it was a pretty cool place! I tried the BA Bullet Train last night and it was pretty decent, definitely looking forward to seeing how they can progress
