Great article. I wish they were there 20 some years ago when I was in Singapore. I remember a steady diet of Tiger beer.

Was in Singapore last year, and was told it's still the most popular beer by far in Singapore. Very popular in Thailand and Vietnam as well. Apparently, it's well priced and easy drinking in the heat. Of course you could say that about just about everything brewed in that part of the world.

Bullshit. A brewery 33 floors above sea level is the world’s highest brewery? There are probably hundreds of breweries in Denver, Mexico City etc. that are much, much higher. Nice try Singapore. Cheers.

Who knew that was even a category? Now that the pissing contest is under way, let's see how high they can go.

I would like to try that Brut Beer, though.

Denver isn't that high relative to other options. I didn't realize how high Mexico City is though. There are dozens of breweries in CO in the 8000-9000ft elevation range split amongst Telluride, Vail, Frisco, Crested Butte, Silverton, and Silverthorne. Many more are in the 7000ft elevation range with Salida, Buena Vista, Ouray, etc..WY has some sneaky high options too in Pinedale and Laramie (7000ft+).

Two Mile Brewing Company in Leadville, CO is probably in the running for highest elevation brewery, though their website claims they are the highest elevation brewery in North America. Period Brewing used to be open in Leadville, CO, which would've been within a few feet elevation wise of Two Mile Brewing Company. Looks like Period has closed since my visit.

My Midwest city area actually has breweries at a higher elevation than LeVeL 33; however, our highest brewery building is only a piddly four stories. So they got us there.

If I ever found myself in Singapore and not busy being caned for whatever filthy American act I accidentally committed without thinking, I'd check them out.

High-rise restaurants are almost always tourist traps. The view is the draw, and that's what you're paying for. Service will likely be very good. If the food and drink are as well, consider yourself lucky.

Ha! It was so bizarre when that news story ended up giving "Singapore Cane" a cultural meaning here in America!

Just for completeness' sake, the world's highest brewery is likely located in La Paz, Bolivia, at approximately 12470 ft/ 3800 m; I went down this rabbit hole far enough to learn that La Paz/El Alto is modestly higher in elevation than Lhasa, Tibet.

My pretty obvious response to that is the fact that pretty much all breweries are in buildings.

I think it's "highest in a building". As in, the one that is highest up in the building it's in.

The vast majority of breweries that I've been to are on thr first floor of their building. Being above the ground floor is a novelty. Being on the 33rd floor is, obviously, an illuminati conspiracy to control our minds. Singaporean illuminati confirmed.
