Where have you seen great beer in places you didn't expect it? I'll start.... -A.P. Suggins - W6 tap (amber), Country Boy tap (cliffjumper IPA)
BD's Mongolian Grill by my house in Hamburg has Cougar Bait on. It's pretty much the only thing I can drink there now. Local Taco near campus seems to always have a Stone or some other craft on tap as well.
Speaking of Al's Bar, I'd be remiss if I didn't plug Arcadium right across the street. It's a true craft beer bar with like 20 taps. Not a lot of people know about it yet, they're still pretty new. Oh, and they have old school arcade games.
The Lunch Box on Liberty rd had Southern Tier, Aviator and some other craft offering in bottle or can. Food was pretty good as well.
Table 310 downtown is an absolutely beautiful venue and they always have a Good selection of bottles, even if they are a little pricey. Got a 750 of Petrus last time I was there, they had Cuvee Van De Keiser Blauw (sp?) also. And Cole's on Ashland and Main is an awesome French bistro and they always have a Chimay on tap along with other good stuff. I've gotten Narwhal from them before.
County Club has three taps now. Prairie Standard was on tap last Wed. And then a few bottles as well including Mikkeller's Crooked Moon.
Has anybody checked out the new wine bar Wine + Market opened across the street for its shop? I haven't, but I read that they were going to have craft taps. Supposedly Wine + Market has a tap or two now. I haven't been in there in some time. Also, the wine shop on Vine was planning on opening a craft bar. Don't usually get over there, so I don't know the status of that project. Some people think Saul Good has good offerings....I'm not one of those people...but it's been awhile as well since we've been there. Maybe it's good now.
I was at Wines on Vine a few weeks ago. Good food and good wine for a great price. Don't drink wine as much any more but they have always had a decent beer selection. Nothing too special but had W6 on tap (ipa and amber) plus a few other craft beers. It's true they are opening a craft beer bar right beside the wine store. It will have a different menu and is supposedly open Thur - Sun. Owner said late Aug for opening so prob late Sept. I'm actually looking forward to checking it out.
City BBQ has bottles of Highlands, Sam Adams Octoberfest, Shinerbock and cans of West 6th ipa along with some BMC offerings.
