Lexington Battle-Green BBQ Fest

Are you guys making another event in Hopkinton this year? Had a lot of fun last year.

 

What was the event last year? Clearly I missed it.

 

It was at Weston Nurseries. BT's and other BBQ trucks brought some really creative and good food and I was drinking all the Live Oak's Pilz and Hefe cans along with some Brick & Feather. Good times.

This has been on my radar for a couple months...I'm always hesitant to start the thread though because it's the best kept secret in terms of events in the state every year...can't wait!

I'm planning on going Saturday...any plans for what to do if it rains? Weather's been gorgeous for years now, I can't remember it raining in the past (at least on Saturday).

I didn't see Live Oak at the event in Lexington last year (I realize you were posting about the Hopkinton one)...maybe this year?

 

I'm planning to go for the 1st time this year (Fri), heard lots of good things.

Is this actually at the Battle Green or the Farmer's Market?

The biggest news is that we are securing a 60 foot by 40 foot big top tent in case of in-climate weather.

Here is the beer list for 2018. Please, please spread the word! In summary we have 31 1/2 barrels of beer, 10 Sixtels and one 1/4 barrel.

Our on site breweries have been very generous making available beers that are not typically in distribution. Please show up with some love!

Once again a solid list - sorry I'll be missing it this year! First time since 2014 that I won't be there - have fun everyone!

 

Hey I'm heading there Saturday. Is there any thing I should know before I go? I am planning on getting there around 2-3. Does stuff last pretty well? Any information would be helpful.

 

You cooking for this event? Big fan of your Que.

 

Any surprise cans this year as I've heard in years past? Draft lineup looks good.

 

The "focal" point of the event is the bands and BBQ, especially the "heady" aroma of the burnt ends from The Smoke Shop.

But that's just been my experience in year's past.

Does anyone remember if there's things for kids to do there? I forget, mainly because I don't have kids so I don't pay attention to what else is there beyond BBQ and beer.
