PoC is good but a bit green right out of the gate. I’m expecting greatness by Christmas.

+1 to green, a ton of mango flavor on it

Greenest beer I have ever had, but still good and will get much better. Heard 30 cases left

Do we imagine this lasting through the night? Their lack of updates tells me yes.

Not trying to be a pest but these early reads are sure "damning with faint praise"!!!

Kinda? We all got the impression that it will get real good in 2-3 weeks, but right now a lot of "I just opened a bag of hops" quality. Quite good now, potential seems high.

From Instagram it looks like the renovations include a new sign and maybe a new table although I can't be sure that hasn't always been there.

Can’t help but wonder long term viability of LIC. Wasn’t that crowded, we hung for a couple of hours and went to 5th Hammer, that place was jam packed. They are a small blip on the radar for this audience, but clearly people in that neighborhood love hanging out there.

Pretty accurate. The bar was redone and made into something very simple, though it still has the ramp and rails. Coolship was taken out and replaced with a table and stools, which is where we hung yesterday. Otherwise some paint and cosmetic things.

Which is in line with how short of a time they were shut down -- not realistic to do anything major in a couple weeks, and certainly not without delays caused by permitting/inspections by the city.

As much as I love Pile, I'm happy with it being once a year if it lasts through the day. I got there at 8:30ish and they still had cans.

Definitely green but really good. Also the carbonation on the can I opened was a little...odd? The head fizzled out almost immediately, kind of like soda. Is that a byproduct of it being so green?

Since LIC is basically on the Queensbridge border, it's not as central to the soccer mom crowd as Fifth Hammer is. That stretch of Vernon Boulevard has a bunch of bars, restaurants, even a couple other breweries with Rockaway and Alewife, and a few blocks down by the river are a bunch of huge luxury apartment complexes, so it's a bit more central to one of the little hubs of LIC.

Also the space at Fifth Hammer is a bit bigger with way more seating and tables. But yea, even considering all that it is absolutely packed there pretty much single weekend, and I'd assume they're busy many weekday evenings.

I worry about LIC too but I have to think their presence in local stadiums is a lifeline.

Can less green, more carbonated, awesome. @SpinSamzo , where the hell were you? Although I did see a picture of you on their Instagram story.

Haha yeah I saw that, the cameras just can't resist me. Sorry for bailing before the meet up but after spending most of Friday in and around OH I needed a break from a brewery.
