I just got some keggles, but I was wondering what to do about lids? Can you buy just the lids and not have to buy pots to get the lids?

Any kitchen supply store should have generic lids that will fit your keggle. Perhaps even a so-called 'Dollar' store.

I got mine at a restaurant supply store.

Same here, paid about $20 per for my slightly used lids (stainless which I like).

    Cheers!

I've seen some use aluminum foil that's sanitized. This would be for chilling after a boil and wouldn't work so well if you're trying to mash in a keggle.

Smart Ass reply... why not just have whoever stole the kegs in the first place steal a lid from a restaurant supply store?

Disclaimer: I do not know that your kegs were stolen. Only that most are.

I'm inclined to give people the benefit of the doubt. While there are, no doubt, stolen kegs out there, I would not assume that most are stolen. Likewise, most priests are not *********s, most guns are not used to commit crimes, and most men don't cheat on their wives. (though most beer drinkers drink Bud Light. Go figure!)

If most kegs are not stolen, where are they coming from?

Mine came from a defunct brewery. Others' have come from the breweries' recycling bins (figuratively). Kegs need to be replaced from time to time. There is a legitimate market in used, but still serviceable kegs.

I don't doubt that. But I doubt that these legitimate kegs outnumber the 'forgot to return' kegs. It's just a hunch.

Well that escalated quickly. Thanks for the replies, and I'm happy to say they were not stolen. Cheers!

Where did you buy them? It would be awesome if more people would seek out legal kegs.

They were given to me as a gift from a guy who cleans keg lines for resturaunts. He cut the tops off for me already and polished them a little bit.
