Wow. I haven't been able to keep up with this beer. Tried finding it at several places the last couple of days, to no avail. Had to give up the chase to get some work done. Hoping maybe some late bottles hit distro out by me in Brandon. If anyone has one to bring to a tasting let me know!

I got 4 bottles, one was just as you describe, about 3" from the top. 2 were normal, and the 4th was filled plum to the top, I mean, no room at all.

I tried one Thursday and thought it was incredible. Very similar to goose island cherry rye which is one of my favorite beers. Different strokes for different folks I guess. I want to be able to share these with friends and send some to trade partners and still have some leftover.

 

The wife and I opened one last night and thought the same thing. Very similar to cherry rye. Life is like has a little less barrel and a little more chocolate on the back side. Overall it was a big winner

It's not a "different strokes for different folks" here. I never said it was bad, in fact I said it was very good.

What I DID say is I'm not scrambling around going crazy trying to find a $25 beer. I did say I want a couple of bottles, but again, not driving up and down Florida to get it. To me, spending $300 on 1 case of this is borderline crazy. There are far too many other great beers out there to buy, I'm content with a couple of these and spreading the rest on different beers.

I mean, I guess if you can throw $300 at every beer made, more power to you. I won't hate on that at all.

you may have misunderstood my "different strokes" comment ray. it was meant that you may not think it is not worthy of buying a lot of it, but other people may think it is, such as myself. BA fruit stouts are my favorite style of stouts, so I can justify me buying a lot of it, even though you don't. People bought a case of Leon because they love barleywines. I for one, do not care much for barleywines, so I would say that buying a case of that is borderline crazy, even though I would say its a great beer and I would buy 1-2 bottles.
