I wanted to see if anyone has tried one recently and if its still worth seeking out. I've noticed a lot of sweet milk stouts will taper off and go bitter over time. I know it hasnt been that long but sometimes stouts fall off quicker than expected. I'm not sure if the barrel aging is helping it evolve in the cellar or not. Any info would be great, thanks
Had a glass about 5 weeks ago. Still awesome and worth seeking out but it won't come easy. FYI this was my top stout of 2013 and definitely in the top 5 overall
I had it for the first time last night and it is still sweet almost to sweet. I think it is well balanced, we drank it along side DB Jesus and I liked the Jesus better l think.
Just had it last week for the first time. If it's fallen off at all, it must've simply been mind blowing fresh. It was easily the best I've ever had of that style. Definitely worth it.
I'd probably consider the following bottles in tiers, where the gaps between any 2 tiers is pretty small and for some people the bottles might be equal (but prob not) Hardest to trade for: BCBCS Vanilla, Hommage DDG, LIL Fou Foune, Prop Easiest: Cherry Rye I recently traded a LIL + Backyard Rye and got 2 Cherry Rye, which seemed fair to me on both sides.
Two weeks ago I swapped a '14 Huna and a '13 Zhukov for one. Haven't cracked it yet but glad to hear it's holding up well.
