You'd need a couple of ULCC ocean going tankers to hold it, I'm old as shit and spent my youth drinking like a fish.

I have a good 40 years of beer drinking under my belt (actually, OVER my belt!)
Sometimes I think about all the money I spent on beer and think that if I saved it I'd be retired and boring.
    Drink On!

I typically drink about 15 12 oz. beers every week. That's around 75 gallons of beer per year. I've probably been drinking that much for about 8 years. Before that, I was drinking beer, just not as much. Lifetime beer consumption is probably around 1,000 gallons. Which, I believe, is just a shade under 16 Hogsheads.

I suppose if I opened a brewery "Sixteen Hogsheads" would be a good name for it.

That's like trying to wrap my head around how much air has passed through my lungs...

    Who cares? It's completely necessary.

I didn't really start drinking beer till two years ago and probably over that time averaged 2 beers a day. That's still quite a bit when you think about it, like 1500 beers.

If I didn't get into distance running at the same time I'd be gigantic.

I can't even think about how much I've drank over the years. Forgetting past, just what I have in stock now, I have about 20 cases of beer (not including homebrew) Averaging $10 a bomber, $120 a case, Probably somewhere in the vicinity of $2500 of beer in stock.
Add that to probably $10,000 worth of guitars and amps... oy.

To the OP. I certainly hope you've enjoyed it, if not, why do it. Keep enjoying your next beer. And, I will enjoy mine.

To every other BA, too much to calculate, and why look back. Too much beer to consume in the future. Enjoy the beer you are presently drinking.

I turned 26 in May. I really didn't care much for beer until I was 18 and at Penn State. During that time, my weekends were a mixture of Natty Light and Calico Jack/Diet. That lasted until I graduated with Miller Lite eventually taking over Natty. After college, I really didn't drink much until I moved to Pittsburgh when I was 24. I started to drink decent beer at that point which eventually morphed into what I am today. I drink 2-3 beers 3 nights a week and 4-6 1-2 nights a week. I've probably consumed a fraction of what most on this site have and still less than people younger than me on this site. Even at the high end of the spectrum, I only drink about 1000 beers a year. Only..........

Everyone spends their money, time, and effort on something. If you're lucky, you get to spend it on something you enjoy. For me, one of those things is beer. I HATED beer for years when I thought that beer was BMC (and worse). In college, I drank a fair amount, but hated the taste and only drank to get drunk (and because it was college and you kinda had to). From age 24-to 30, I probably only drank about 20 beers a year. Yeah, really. Strangely enough, a girl that I haven't seen in 10 years that lives hours away turned me on to craft, and it was literally like someone took a blindfold off of me-- WOW, is THIS really what beer can be!?!?!

Since then, I've probably averaged 1-2 beers per day, with all of them being new, different, and enjoyable. Not concerned with how much beer or how much money-- it's an enjoyable hobby, and just like pretty much any other hobby, as long as the enjoyment is there, the cost is worth it.

I drink 1000 beers a year roughly. Most of them are Jai Alai and Tocobaga. I don't regret a single one.

Tough question.. even as I never liked beer in my teens so drank English cider.. went travelling for a few years so switched to beer but never really loved it, more about the location. Then about 15 years ago I went to visit a friend in Belgium and my obsession with beer started.. But it's mostly always been quality over quantity.

Since 2007 when I had a friend bring me 6 bottles of beers from Quebec, I've been trying to see how many different bottled beers I can drink in my home.. and it's not so easy getting hold of them when you live on a small island in the English Channel!

Now I do some serious road trips to breweries etc.. just to get hold of them. As of last night I'm upto 747 different bottles from over 350 breweries. My wife has beginning to realise I've a problem, especially as I've still got every bottle!

I'm with you, man. The number of times you think "Well damn, if I didn't drink then I could have an extra (however many tens of thousands) towards my house, car, whatever. As with you however, it is a passion and a hobby - I couldn't imagine my life without it. What's the point of life without the simple pleasures?
