I agree with this. But, the main reason I don't wanna know how much is simple...plausible deniability. I honestly can't tell the wife how much I spend on beer. I use a famous quote from Ronald Reagan. "I don't recall."

I just did the math and figure it's a minimum of 62,000 beers. What I would give to see all those 62,000 lined up in front of me................

Some of you kids have some catching up to do. Now who wants to know how many slices of pizza I've had?

According to Untappd, I've had 700 beers in 11 months.

Too much to reliably count, and honestly I don't care. I'm 39 years old and am down to the weight I was at when I graduated from high school. I exercise the calories off because I like having energy and being fit. Life is too short to not enjoy it with family and friends.

In about 3 and a half decades the dollars and ounces are uncalculable. But it was all good practice to reach my current ability to appreciate so many different brewers skills. And so, choose an appropriate reward earned by another hard days work. Cheers!

I've spent enough money on beer in the last two years alone to last a lifetime. Ouch.

I have been drinking an average of 25 beers a week for ten years. That comes out to roughly 13,000 beers in my life. Not even going to think about how much money that is.

Lifetime beer consumption from ages 0-30 years: 1.3
Beer consumption from 30 to present: ~ 30.

Consider a really nice beer costs less than fancy coffee or tea, cost about the same as an energy drink or similar.
A complex, heavy dark beer will take me approximately 45 minutes to an hour to enjoy. I will likely spend an additional 10-15 minutes reviewing, making notes, photographing, storing the cap, entering it into a spread sheet and otherwise discussing the experience. This places the value on par with movie tickets. At the upper end there are probably 500 calories in my beer. This is about the same as a nice cupcake or some other dessert I would enjoy.

So within the context of calories, cost and time it is within line for other pleasures of the senses. The only things I get more out of for less would be books which I can have for little or no money, enjoy repeatedly and have 0 calories.

Or possibly that other adult activity that I enjoy. But as I get older I find that beer is easier to get and doesn't require additional grooming, awkward small talk and has yet to result in small children or in-laws.

Part of me wishes I'd kept count the entire time. It'd be interesting to keep a working tally on the ounces of beer consumed over a lifetime.

One of my friends got a ticket for speeding, and had to go to court..

During the readings, the judge said "Mr. Driver, it was reported that you had beer in the backseat. Just how much did you have?"

    "Cases and cases and cases!!"

    The entire floor rolled

I am a very lucky man. I am a Craft Brand Manager for a beer distributor. So my consumption has gone up while cost has gone down. Could not ask for a better job.
