In an attempt to get my brother into good beer, I've been bringing singles to his house every time we visit. I recently brought a Boulevard Tank 7 (which I am obsessed with as of late) and, while he enjoyed it, he said that he would like something lighter and crisper for the summer. I am definitely going to bring over an Anderson Valley Blood Orange Gose and a Sixpoint Crisp next time I see him, but what other beers would you guys recommend that I bring to satisfy his summer requirements?

Both of those are great options IMO. Also 2nd FW Pivo Pils, Victory Prima Pils, Weistephaner Pilsner or Helles Lager, Victory Summer Love is a great tasting summer brew.

Any Saison is a great summer beer. Fruity, light, and effervescent.

    Stiegl Pils and Pilsner Urquell.

Many people will turn their noses up but I really love Samuel Adams Summer Ale when it's hot out. A little bit too much lemon taste for me but it is really refreshing.

Southern Tier Hop Sun. Or, if he's a BMC drinker and you're looking to get him into craft and need a "gateway beer," try Newcastle Bombshell.

“…he would like something lighter and crisper for the summer.” Given that statement I think your brother would prefer Sierra Nevada Summerfest.

    Cheers!

Cambride Brewing Company Remain in Light, which should be available shortly! Also Victory Prima Pils, Smuttynose Vunderbar, Not as light in alcohol but since you liked Tank 7, Brooklyn Sorachi Ace isnt AS high. Two Roads Ol' factory as well.

I had two occasions last weekend to walk into a local brewery directly from the bike trail. At Old Ox, I had their Saison d'Ox, and at Port City Brewing, I tried their Downright Pilsner. Both were refreshing and tasty. The Saison had a lot more aroma but I guess that is to be expected.

A group of 3 of us did a blind taste test about 10 days ago with Nooner and Summerfest. 2 of us chose Nooner, the other Summerfest. In all honesty, the beers are pretty similar. I just think Nooner is slightly better.

Lots of great suggestions so far. I also see myself drinking a lot of Weyerbacher Tarte Nouveau this year, one of my most recent pleasant surprises. Definitely in that Berliner Weiss/Gose ballpark, and very easy drinking at 3.9%.

The Wright Pils was great...too bad Great Lakes isn't making it anymore.

Sly Fox Pikeland Pils is one that's quite refreshing.
