If you want something like a farmhouse ale, a Biere de Table might be in order, like Avril. I also think light, slightly tart beers are great in the summer, so wheat beers really shine: Hefezeizen, Gose, and Berliner Weissbier should be on the menu.

I always enjoy a canned gose or pilsner when outside in the summer heat.

Brooklyn's Sorachi Ace is an excellent spring/summer saison.

Mayflower Golden Ale is one of my summertime go-to's. Maybe not as exciting or sexy as some of the other suggestions (Mayflower doesn't get as much attention as they deserve sometimes in my opinion) but he should definitely give it a go. Very light and crisp, super refreshing... perfect sunny day beer in my book. You can stand there and drink it all day long.

The one, the only, Bells Oberon! Deliciously light and crisp. If i start early enough in the day i can put down a twelve pack and feel fine the next day.

I didn't think you were getting smart, but thanks for explaining. If those are some of the best, then you might be right. Perhaps I do like [well-done] pilsners.

There are Pilsner threads with other recommendations in case you feel like branching out a bit more, but if not then you're still enjoying some good ones. Sierra Nevada Nooner and Firestone Walker Pivo Pils might also be up your alley. I tend to buy them like I buy IPAs- whatever is freshest at the store is what's coming home with me- so it's good to have a bunch to choose from.
