So long story short, im about a 95% hoppy and 5% stout guy.

My brother is slowly getting into beers not named Coors. He likes euro stuff, and lightly hopped stuff below 5 or 6%. Ive been giving him pales and ipas for about a year now, and he almost never likes them because they are too heavy, or arent refreshing enough.....so time to stop wasting my good hoppy stuff on that bastard!

What styles do you guys suggest for someone who prefers below 6%, refreshing, etc. Ive had a few pilsners that fit the bill, but dont drink em enough to know if they are usually like that.

Keep in mind, my knowledge is limited to pale/ipa/stout.

    Shoot away

I'd start with Kolsch, Pils and Helles Lagers

My solution is to stock some Coors because I grew tired of finishing their beers.

Lagers, Pilsners, maybe even a Pale Ale that isn't too hoppy

I have a friend with similar drinking habits to your brother. Liked that euro stuff, didn't want to go on with the IPAs and PAs. I got him into Coffee Porters/Stouts. Sometimes going way left field is good. Make him be like, "beer can taste like this?"

It's the right time of year for summer wheat beers. If you are in SoCal, I'll recommend Bell's Oberon. (I'm not sure how much of SoCal get's Bell's products, but it should be easy to find in that area.) And if you are in SoCal, it's summer year-round there and this beer probably is also.

Plenty of good suggestions so far. Let me chime in and say: Kolsch.

I drank a homebrewed Kolsch earlier this evening after doing some yard work. That beer was perfect for a warm/hot summer evening.

    Cheers!

He does like to veer into blue moon, shocktop, leinenkugels etc. So I'll look into those. Have also seen kolsch style beers from Ballast for example.

You want the premium lager, the german style pilsner and the blonde ale.

I might be missing the point since I know you mentioned pils but what about the proclaimed "hoppy pils" that are becoming so popular...FireStone Pivo, Victory Prima, etc...

Does he have interest in something like a Gose??? I understand it's a little less approachable but low ABV and absurdly delicious for this time of year.

It sounds like you could broaden your horizons as much as your brother. Explore with him. There's a lot of great beer out that's not hoppy. Plenty of good beers/styles were already suggested.

Go with something with low bitterness and is somewhat sweet, such as a cherry wheat or raspberry ale.
