$7/oz would be a steal for SA Utopias!

Light beers have their place, they're not trying to be something they're not, and they are what they are. I don't mind as ice cold Miller lite at all, sometimes it's a prefect choice.

The 3 light beers I don't mind are Moosehead, Yuengling, and Abita. I used to get them for tailgating sometimes due to all the crazy food I'd be eating.

You just don't see a lot of quality light beers.

Try some of Abita's stuff if you want light craft. Amber is 128 cal., Golden is 125, and Light is 118. Oh, and Purple Haze also clocks in at 128.

Drink Brewmeister Snake Venom, it only contains 2025 calories per 275ml bottle.

I had a Yuengling Light last night and for ABV and Cal it is the best I have had. Thx for the tip. Can't get Gannsett down here but would like to try.

The local Big Box National Wine and Spirits Retailer who just moved into town has one in a display case for $169.97. I'll rush right down there and get a case. Not.

    Yuengling light
    Sam Adams Light
    Labatts Light
Guinness (believe it or not is actually pretty low in calories)

Haha, agreed. I was saying it'd be a steal if served at an establishment (bar, restaurant, etc) at that price.

If I needed to cut calories there are a ton of things I'd stop eating before I adjusted my beer intake.

I have to echo what others here have said - it's called self control man, you don't need to drink beer every day, let alone more than one - maybe you don't, for all I know, but your original post sure makes it sound like you have multiple beers every night - try just drinking on weekends, and only having a couple. If you can't bring the beer intake down to that level, you should maybe consider cutting the beer from your life altogether.

Do you lift/workout/run in addition to paying attention to caloric intake? I'd say that's the best approach. Same goes for food. Count your drinking calories in with your total for the day and make it a single stack instead of a double.

[insert "I run so I can drink picture here]

As for beer, stick to the good stuff and just split it with a friend/significant other. Get creative.

This has already pretty much been stated, but there is simple correlation between ABV and calories. i.e. drinking 5 miller 64's vs 2-3 Budweisers is pretty much netting you the same calories, and the same alcohol. There's really no way of getting around it. The alcohol itself is to blame for the calories. I think there is like 90 calories in a shot of vodka to give an example. I'd rather just drink one bcbs and call it a night if I'm worried about calories.

I think Guiness is known for being very low in carbs, which is why people drink it while trying to lose weight, but I may be wrong.
