Lights, Camera, Action LIF Take 9

Well I guess its about time for part 9 of the Lights, Camera, Action LIF. I thought for a long time about a theme and since I made everyone wait for me to get back from a trip, I think the theme will just be "Movies RochesterAaron has watched recently".

Last week the guy I share a space with at work and I watched 5 movies at work (shhh), answers #1-5 are those 5 movies. #6-8 have hints listed below. If you need to check whether a film is available on Netflix Instant this site is a good resource.

1. Watched on Netflix Instant (foreign, 201X)

3. Watched on Netflix Instant (Canadian-American, 201X)
4. The last blu-ray that I purchased (foreign, 200X)
5. A pretty dumb comedy that used show regularly on the Comedy channel, dvd (American, 199X)
6. The last movie I saw in theaters (American, 2012)
7. Not actually a movie, but my favorite TV series ever. I've watched it 5 times in its entirety and just lent the 2nd season to the above mentioned coworker. (200X)
8. The last movie I watched on tv (in a hotel room last week) - has a connection to a previous incarnation of this LIF. (200X)

This LIF is open to anyone in the lower 48 (sorry everyone else). One guess per person per hint. I would like the winner to continue this LIF series (because I love it). Since I just got back from Vermont yesterday that winner will be receiving a bottle of Hill Farmstead Everett, a couple cans of Heady Topperand some other goodies based on where they are located.

Most of these aren't highbrow movies. I tried to make it fairly accessible. Take a stab at it, especially once there are hints involved I don't think it'll be that bad. A couple of these are probably laughably easy. Google is my friend when it comes to sports questions in LIFs. I don't know anything about baseball or basketball, but it doesn't stop me from guessing.

Feel free to discuss HF. I hadn't had anything from Sean before 2 days ago. I was doubting the hype. There is no doubt now. Hanging out in what is essentially a garage, tasting beers with a steady but small group of beer lovers, while you look out over the fields and Sean brews 5 ft away is a surreal experience.

 

After rereading these clues are a bit too vague. Here are some more hints, second guess open.

1. British film

3. Comedy
4. From an asian country, came packaged with its sequel (which sucks horribly). I used to have a bootleg version of this movie, but it finally got an official US release so I preordered it about 6 months ago.
5. I doubt this will be helpful, but there is a very small connection between a clothing item worn in this movie and a business located in the suburb of Rochester that I live in (Irondequoit).
6. My wife picked this movie (she has terrible taste in movies, but at least it wasn't a romantic comedy). We saw it in late March or early April
7. Nobody has it yet. It was not on standard network television.
8. Someone was incredibly close. It played a major role in either Take 6, Take 7, or Take 8 of this LIF

Guess more, I want to give someone from this standup group of BAs some delicious beer.
