Lindley Park '15 was released this week.

I'm surprised I haven't seen any mention of it yet on here. I suppose it flew under the radar due to the other local releases coming up... Calico Jack, Carolus Magnus, Dark Arts, etc. I figured I'd mention it to give those like me a heads up.

I must be in the minority on that, I always thought it tasted like cough syrup. Would need some serious age to revisit.

Has it hit the triangle yet?

I've never gotten syrup, but this is one that is best fresh. If you age it, it basically tastes like a tart, weaker version of Event Horizon.

Good to know. This one may be just not for me. I know it's highly rated and I have friends who enjoy it, so I'm willing to be the outlier on this one.

This. I like this beer a lot, as I'm a fan of fruited stouts. But I wouldn't age this one purposefully. I actually drank a '14 last night and it wasn't bad, but this is pretty much what I was thinking. Age Event Horizon for sure, but not Lindley.

I must respectfully disagree. Had a 2012 and a 2011, the 2011 most recently, and they were both sublime. Still had SO much raspberry flavor and I disagree with others that say they got a cough syrup-like quality. I felt like I could taste the raspberry seeds it tasted so much like real raspberry. Love it.

Well I've never had one nearly that old so I couldn't comment. Glad to hear they were good though. Based on my experiences at 1-year old though, I don't think I'll ever keep one for longer.

I tend to agree with this, I guess I should have clarified with the years of it. The ones I have had aged ('13 & '14) have not held up to that lovely raspberry greatness that fresh LP does.

I have one bottle of '12 left hanging out in the cellar, seems I should but that out here soon to have a side by side with '15.

Never had it aged, so maybe it is better, but still not a favorite of mine.

Ah, okay. See, I had the '12 last year round this same time on-tap and couldn't believe how much raspberry was still kicking, so I took that as my cue to lay down the '14 I bought which I still have yet to crack. Looks like I should buy a '15 and drink it side-by-side with my '14 to see if I agree with these sentiments.

Personal opinion here. I think fresh Lindley got better with 14" with the new labels and the wax. I don't think it aged as well as previous batches, though it's still good right now for the most part. I drank another 12 a little over a week ago, it's so good. Basically, you can age any of the wax versions for a good while and I recommend it. Don't recommend aging the 14, I'll wait and see on the 15 but I hope it's similar to last years personally. Before 14', it was an intense beer while fresh (don't mean the alcohol) that I always had to put down for a while.

Yeah it's probably just a case of certain vintages aging better than others, like y'all are saying.

I don't think so. Maybe next week or the following.

I agree with this. But it depends on the year and if it was in the bottle or off tap for me. I can tell you that the 2015 tastes wonderful. Well balanced malts, raspberries and hints of chocolate. Go get a bottle.

I agree with above. I absolutely love this beer. It's my favorite release from them. Something about the raspberries and bourbon that go so well together.

When I first moved to Hickory 2 years ago and tried it for the first time I HATED it. I was so confused why everyone praised it. I re-visited it last year and loved it. I'm not sure what changed my opinion? Palates do change, I guess. I had the 2014 earlier this week and it was great. I look forward to having the 2015.
