    hey y'all,

I have a bottle of Lindley Park sitting in my cellar. It is black wax and the date is 5/13.

The description says it was aged in oak barrels.

Is this just oak barrel aged or is it whiskey barrel aged?

The only description I find online isna whiskey barrel aged version, but the picture online shoes red wax...

Anyone able to help be me out? The wax color is confusing me, and I cant find a plain oak aged version on the site...

A whiskey barrel is an oak barrel, so I do not think there are any different version. Post the picture for help.

I think the question is if it was aged in a bare oak barrel or one that once housed whiskey which would be a totally different flavor

I could be wrong, but I believe Lindley Park is OHB's Event Horizon on raspberries and honey, so it's bourbon barrels.

I just looked it up on their website: An imperial stout brewed with honey and raspberries, then aged in bourbon barrels.

True, I more so meant it would be acceptable to call a Bourbon Barrel an Oak Barrel because it technically is. All Bourbon Barrels are Oak Barrels, it is required.

FWIW I have the 2014 unwaxed version and it's bourbon barrel aged.

Wow. The OP should really up his proof reading game.

Thanks guys, I'm going to assume this is oak barrels that have been used to create whiskey.

    This makes me happy

Im pretty sure its second use EH barrels with raspberries. Lately, Event Horizon and LP have needed cellar time. They seem to be getting sweeter each year.

Mine has 2013 stamped on the wax. I thought that was cool idea. Anyone know how it's drinkin right now?
