The article mentions bottles at some indeterminate point in the future. They're going to make MBC look like a steal. Dude runs awesome bars, but it really hurts to pay Boston prices in a Brunswick ME strip mall.

Nonetheless, I expect nothing but delicious beers coming out of this new venture. The tanks behind the glass have been a real tease up to this point!

The amazing thing is, the article says he's spending $250,000 on the place, when the whole brewery was already there, and he'll be brewing 15 barrel batches. That means a whole new brewhouse, doubling capacity before even opening? I'm very sure the brewhouse I saw there a few months ago was a trusty old Pub Systems 7bbl.

It's a 7 barrel brew house that can do double batches, and our unitank fermenters are 15 barrels. And @ emannths: don't make assumptions based on past pricing, we'll be producing the beers on site, so the pricing will certainly reflect that. As for the rest of your comment, you're right on point ;-) This will be a whole new format, and priced so everyone is welcome

I feel like a disloyal shit for voting Lion's Pride best craft beer bar over some of our VT venues in the CraftBeer.com poll - but, guilty as charged. (Hey - we're working on it.) However, our brewpubs will give you a run for your money, Chris. All the best for the new place!

As long as it's good people trying to serve good beer that's all that matters. Ratings and all that other stuff is just for fun and bs......its the relationships you build with people that counts at the end of the day and what I love the most.

All that being said, we're reopening as Ebenezer's Brewpub upon TTB and State approval which is now just a matter of time. And we'll be serving beers from Lively Brewing Company (name to be expanding in the future hopefully) our neighbors next door (State law makes us "neighbors").

So, we're looking forward to doing growler fills , pitchers, mug clubs, sampler flights, etc. Finally, what we intended our place to be is coming to fruition.

I'm curious what quirk of state law causes this...I thought a restaurant with an in-house brewery, operating under the same name, was a pretty well established thing.

Will any of the Lively Brewing Company beer be making it up to Lovell?

@ beerinmaine: there is no "brewpub license" in the State of Maine. So one site (the brewery)is manufacturing, and the other site is a place of assembly (the actual pub). You can operate under one name or two, but one entity must sale to the other, unless in bulk.
    @fistfight: of course!

Stopped by tonight for a beer. Brewery renovation is still behind closed doors (shades drawn on the windows, so less to see than before). New restrooms built since my last visit, much needed as the old ones were a holdover from prior occupants. Draft list is reduced to 15 beers plus 1 wine; 2 of those were kicked. All the glass tap handles still in place though. Food menu is also redone, I'd call it more like a standard pub menu with fewer of the upscale items and beer-themed/beer-named items. Staff was attentive and pleasant. Still no bottle list offered, which has always puzzled me, why not offer up the stuff in the coolers? It was $27 for 3 draft beers, which still seems like a bit much for Brunswick (for Schneider-Wiesse, Allagash Lager, etc, nothing over-the-top) and still prevents me from stopping more often.

Agree. This is why I haven't been there in months despite living only a few miles away. Prices are just generally too high for beers that aren't that rare or hard to get and the last couple of times I did go in the draft list was not overly impressive when compared to other beer bars in the area. Plus no regularly maintained online draft list to even see if they do have something I am interested in stopping by for. That being said, once the brew pub is up and running I will stop in to check it out and sample the beers. Any word on who they have hired as a brewer or when the beer will be flowing?

Frankly don't remember all the details...but it's different from what's on the website, so don't check there.

Nothing I've seen. Recent articles tease but don't answer. Considering history, it's probably something best left for "oh by the way, our beer is here today".

And then you'll find something else to complain about as always. Do me a favor bro, don't stop by our place anymore. I'm sick of your negativity and complaints. Its lame. Go find somewhere else to comp-lain about and judge. You'll obviously be happier and so will I. I mentioned our price point above, yet you still chime in negatively. Whatever man.

Wow. Hard to believe we're seeing a business owner behave this way towards a customer in public, in front of other customers, potential customers, peers, the entire community. Sad.

    Behave what way?
He doesn't seem to like the dude and he's being upfront about it. The customer is not always right and business owners don't need to treat them with respect if they don't deserve it.
Why walk on eggshells around people?

Essentially he said: Your prices are too high and you dont update your website the beers you have on draft.
Does that really warrant the owner of a brand new business essentially saying, Screw you don't come in? A better response would be to explain the pricing and say that you will do a better job of updating the online list to reflect whats on-tap
