I'll be visiting the Lititz/Lancaster area this weekend (from the NYC area) and was just wondering if anyone could point out any must-visit shops or anything thats locally available.. (I already searched the boards and have checked SeekABrew).. And I know about the cask fest, which I'll probably visit.. Thanks in advance!
You'll probably be within 1/2 hour of Stoudt's in Adamstown, if you have the time, it's worth the trip.
The Bullshead has the best draft selection. The Fridge has excellent bottles and pizza but they are a little pricey. Bully's in Columbia is well worth checking out for an excellent bottle selection and food. Lancaster Brewing is always a good bet...
"Must visit shops?" Not sure I can help you there. However, I think the Spring House tap room is worth a visit if you're in Lancaster, and I'd also recommend the Iron Hill brewery there as well. I agree with zekeman17 that Soudt's is worth checking out, if you don't mind a fairly short drive up N 222 to get there.
Troegs and Brass Rail deli (a bottle shop and beer distributor) are both within 45 minutes of lititz... not sure how much driving you're looking to do. They are only about 10 minutes apart if you wanted to hit both.
The Fridge in Lancaster is a pretty decent bottle shop and it has ten or so beers on tap. Stopped by yesterday for a Backwoods Bastard.
