That's kind of the point of reviewing a beer. Taking notes and entering on BA later is fine.

In the age of smartphones and screens in every room of the house, how else would one do it? :-)

95% live or from in-depth notes taken live, and 90% of these I will review from a first impression, given that the beer is within its stated freshness, appropriate serving temperature, glassware, environment, etc. While more tastings before reviewing can only increase precision of the review, there are too many beers that are undeserving of multiple purchases to give them all a second shot at impressing me. If I feel conditions weren't right or there was more yet to explore, I can sacrifice the single additional tick to either taste it again and give an honest, respectful review, or to just not review and not try again.

I suspect that much to many people's horror, 5% of the time I will review *gasp* from memory, given that I have had the beer a half dozen+ times, and have had appropriate atmosphere for reviewing and was in a contemplative frame of mind on the most recent tasting. If you know a beer, you know a beer.

I was wondering what all the bearded dudes huddled in the corner of the brewery were doing on their laptops. They always appear to be the only ones not really enjoying themselves...

I always review a beer while I am drinking it, do not want to have my mind muddled or forget anything about the beer

Hey, it'd be nice if this site had video reviews.

Typically I will only review while drinking the beer. Will complete a score only if I drank the beer earlier.
