I am going to be in Texas in a couple of weeks and will be in the Dallas Fort Worth area and also the College Station area. I know Live Oak is brewed in Austin. Anyone know if there is a place I can get a growler of that in the DFW area or College Station Texas? Thanks.

Taps and Caps in Lewisville (Dallas area) has it currently. They seem to have it on tap there fairly regularly. They have a real-time tap status' so you can check their site as your visit get closer.

Check out Craft & Growler...they have it pretty often, and update their tap list regularly.

I think Harvey Washbanger's in College Station offers growler fills if you miss out in Dallas.

Washbangers to my knowledge has rarely if ever had Live Oak hefe, and most of their small lineup is sub par. Think No Label, New Republic, etc and you get the picture.

I'm sure this has been covered before, but has there ever been any indication from Live Oak if or when they will package this?

There is some older thread about this. They are supposed to be building a new brewery that will have a canning line.
But as always with LO, I'll believe it when I see it.

New site has a slab poured. After talking to some guys at the brewery, they're thinking moving will start in July, and hopefully the first brew will happen in August. Seems like an ambitious time table, but they're ready to get out of there.

Sounds like Hefe will not be canned originally. Big Bark, Pilz, and Oaktoberfest were what I remember being mentioned for first canning.

Live Oak Hefe is just so good.

I've never been to Germany and had a Hefeweizen there, but I can't imagine it being much better... if any.
