LNBA: Friday night off we go

Started the night with homebrewed Kolsch and ended it by splitting a bottle of 12' DL with my brother-in-law. Great way to kick off the weekend IMO.

Batch #12 Blue Wax. Amazing!

 

Start my night off on an extremely high note over here. BOOM. I picked this up when I visited my folks house over the last holiday weekend. It was damn fresh as evident by my experience. I havent had this in over a year at least.


WHOA. I don't know how Avery does it, but they do. This is incredibly balanced, complex, and so fucking smooth. HOT DAMN, AMAZING. (and I wasnt even expecting being blown away by this one, I should have known better) Candidate for my first barelywine homebrew right here.


I have the Sam Adams Hopology 12 pack in my fridge for next.(not the whole 12 pack >_>)

in an interesting twist of fate, i have decided to bow out of the public trading game on an evening where i consumed nothing but local brews. so let's add a growler of port jeff's Barrel Aged Porter to the list of locals consumed tonight (damn fine!)




...it is a shocking thing when you realize that you are one of those old men yelling at the kids playing on your lawn, but i guess recognizing that you've become that old man is part of fixing the problem. good luck to the trading forum, those who "get it" are dropping like flies.

Started in the early evening with some Surly Schadenfreude on tap. Tonight its been a Schell's Czech Style Dark Lager, 2012 KBS, Summit Summer Ale, and Surly Furious.

 

a newish user who blows the cover on the Capt Lawrence release, scores some 2012 parabola, has an avatar that just kills from the band, and a user name that kills from literature...what can't you do?

 

Moved onto a Gumballhead, then a Summerfest (with a hotdog, aww yeah), and now a Red Racer IPA. (Is it just me or is that beer kinda like Palette Wreckers little brother?)

 

Dogfish Head Indian Brown Ale. Had a Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar earlier. Boy, do these delicious American Brown Ales go great with a nice late-night bowl of gazpacho?!?

 

Had my first Hunaphu tonight thanks to a very generous BA (meerkat2); then we shared Curmudgeon's Better Half. Nice tasting! Those are two powerful beers and I made my way home in the rain pleasantly inebriated and soaked (on public transportation).

It bears mentioning that this is a guy who was pretty much a complete stranger to me but knew I missed a big tasting and really wanted to try Huna. So he reached out to me, unsolicited, and invited me over to share it with him. That's beer advocacy right there.

 

I love quads and every beer I've had from Boulevard has been top notch. Remind me again why I have had this one yet lol.
