Agreed in principle, they've GOT to get the Brewhub pseudoSue more consistent though. First batch was rough, next one was pretty nice, now the latest batch was pretty weak again. But the Golden Nugget July batch is the hot hot heat.

Trillium Fort Point and Congress Street spoil the hell out of me for other hoppy beer. For the price, availability, and generally short wait time at the brewery, i can't beat it. I also go to tree house twice a month and while the beer there is superior and close to home, not sure whether their beer is justifiably THAT much better to have to wait 2 hours longer to get it (at the brewery alone, no including the +45 minutes extra each way driving time) and pay a steeper price.

May I say most respectively that many of the above posters are spoiled!

Dallas not a mecca for great beer but getting better. I really enjoy fresh Deep Ellum IPA and can get/do get it frequently.

I agree the Florida sue was off. The Decorah sue is one of my all time favorite beers.

Crooked Stave and Casey. I can throw a rock and hit 10 world class bottles. I never have to search out a sour or saison in trade around here!

Had some friends come in last night from Boston asking what bar in downtown Burlington they could find Heady Topper at. My response: "Every Single One." And like a spoiled Vermonter I tried Burlington Beer Co's "Chasing Rabbits" instead, while they all sipped their silver cans, because, well, I'm spoiled and can have one whenever I want.

What about your pilsner/dortmunder/english brown ale/cali common/maibock fixing?

Or is stout and IPA all we drink on here now?

While I'm aware of other style, these are my personal preference, thus why I feel I'm spoiled with these options that fulfill my particular taste. If you enjoy other styles as much as i enjoy these, well then, more power to you. Occasionally a sour will tickle my fancy, and its great to know i have Toolbox right down the road.

These seems to be everybody's preferences. Stouts and IPAs, stouts and IPAs, stouts and IPAs. I like them too, but good god it would be nice as beer advocates if people would talk about something else for once. Should change this site's name to StoutIPAvocate. Oh well, more for me.

edit: you mentioned sours, which I forgot makes up the trifecta of the only beer styles BA drinks. So, cheers! 3 styles!

at least we have all found a place and come together

for the record and in light of being sick of diligently searching bottles and cans for dating I'm getting back into APA's as well

Quebec has always been big on Belgians, so I'm pretty well-served when it comes to those. The Unibroue beers are cheap and available in pretty much any dépanneur (corner store) in the province, which is nice when you're out in the sticks and can't find a decent bottle shop. The SAQ also stocks some of the better imported Belgians, so I can always get Chimay and I often find Rochefort.

Unfortunately, we still haven't caught up in the IPA arms race. Moralité is good, but can be hard to find fresh. Other decent IPAs mostly come in bombers or pint bottles and are a bit on the expensive side. A couple times a year, I make it down to Vermont and sometimes I can score some Heady Topper, but it's not like you find the stuff just sitting on the shelf most of the time.
