I don't usually engage in this sort of thing but, how so?

Meh, the PTO thing isn't so bad, far as I'm concerned. Gotta use those float days for something. The bottle shares can be fun, or you just get a nice day trip somewhere you wouldn't think to go normally. Either way, it's a win.

    Agreed on the rest, though.

Because calling someone who make $8 an hour and entitled prick makes you look like one. How could someone working at a liquor store possibly be entitled. They are literlly there to help you.

In a hypothetical world where shelf space was unlimited and not at a premium, I can gurantee all beer would be on the floor/shelf. However, this is not the case and it doesnt feasibly make sense to put out 3 bombers of Firestone over 6 4-packs of double jack.

Stop suggesting putting it out with a 1 limit. They would if they could, half the time when they do its some tacky ass table with random bottles from todays shipment with a makeshift sign. People look at it, see the bottle that they are looking for isnt on it and walk away.

Thats not what the store wants. When confronting/talking to a store employee to ask if something is in you are more inclined to buy something else and chat up and take suggestions.

I think you mis-read who he was calling an entitled prick. Pretty sure he was referring to the folks who berate the employees over the phone or Twitter...not the employee.

I mean, the first time it happened was Black Friday 2010, so it's not really a new phenomenon. But yah, i think it was those.

I would've killed to have been able to order via the computer system. My schedule was basically set by the fact that I had to be there Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays so I could meet with my reps and ensure my shipments were received properly (I could only trust myself, sadly...). Using the computerized system could have freed up my Wednesdays and kept me from having to spend most of my shift dealing with the reps. There are benefits to the face-to-face system, but those benefits could manifest themselves via e-mails or something from the distributors.

Basically, it is absurd the way that Binny's as a chain still handles their beer sections (and employees), basically as appendages they can take advantage of but feel no need to invest time, effort, skill, and modernization in. They are a wine and liquor chain that happens to stock a bunch of beers, and it's beginning to show in places. (Of course, I can't blame them for not wanting to deal with the increasing number of absolute asshats that currently populate the beer scene...)

Yep. Relying on one or maybe two individuals to make sure the whole process is done correctly is just shortsighted and stupid. Pennywise and pound foolish.

Oh- apparently it wasn't just me that the "family" was telling, "You should be able to rely on the reps to write the orders!" LOL
