Local Breweries and their Freshness Dates

    I have never known a brewery to use a molded code from glass for any kind of reliable dating system. Some manufacturers of bottles do use codes which can be deciphered, but that means nothing for when a beer is bottled other than that the beer was packaged sometime after that date.

    Chances are that the bottles sit in a glass warehouse for days or weeks before being shipped, then take up to a week to arrive at a brewery, then take days or weeks (or months depending on size) for the brewery to use that glass. This is if you're lucky and everything is on a quick timetable.

    Currently I have seen zero indication that Fat Heads dates but they are working on installing a dater from what I've heard. I wouldn't consider any other reporting of a glass code as indication of a brewer's bottled on date either...
