    Hi everyone.

I will be going to NJ (Port Murray/ Hackettstown area) this saturday to visit a friend until next Thursday. I am wondering if there are any must have beers from NY, NJ, or PA that you would recommend. I prefer stouts, porters, scotch ales, and bitters (I love malty beers), but I am open to trying more styles as well.

Thanks for your input and I'm excited to try your recommendations.

About 25 minutes east in Fairfield is Magnify Brewing, which is the most solid of the recent crop of breweries. They're doing good things and they currently have Point of Divergence on (pours only, no growler fills). This is a stout fermented with Italian red wine yeast - tasty and interesting.

Right in Hackettstown is Man Skirt Brewing. I haven't been yet, but heard some good things, some average things.

Taphouse Grill is also in Hackettstown on Rt. 57 with a decent tap list and good food.

There's more places around as the radius grows (and a couple I haven't mentioned that are within the radius -- only going by what I know). newjerseycraftbeer.com has a membership map that lists a bunch (but not all) decent to great beer options around.
