I am currently working on a trade where my end is focused on localized canned brews, just want to make sure I send the best box that I can, wondering what Texans think are the best cans out there that we offer? Thanks for any/all help. I don't drink a lot of cans myself.
Hopadillo and Sympathy for the Lager are two of my favorites, especially with the heat. Buried Hatchet and Bombshell Blonde are also solid Texas brews.
Hops and Grains' Alt just won a Gold medal a few months ago at the World Beer Cup (I think that was the fest?). All of the Austin Beerworks cans are good. Fireman's #4 is in cans, but I wouldn't say that's trade worthy. All of the other TX cans I am aware of are out of the Houston area. If Weisse Versa is available in cans I would send that. I really enjoyed that on my last stop in Houston.
Anything Karback, Southern Star, or Austin Beer Works. Love me some ABW, I wish Pearl Snap could still be found around Houston.
I would limit it to Karbach and Austin Beer Works for local cans, though I actually found Walloon to be an alright. (And I'm not a big fan of Southern Star.)
Rodeo Clown, Fire Eagle IPA, H&G Pale Dog, maybe Buried Hatchet. Those are the ones that come to mind for me.
Rodeo Clown, Bombshell, Buried Hatchet and Sympathy are the only ones that I would send out. I haven't had ABW in a year, but I was not impressed when I tried it.
Fireman's is in cans? Not that I particularly look forward to drinking this, but it's not a half bad alternative to split with friends who only drink BMC. Could make a fun extra or two. One that you must send out is Weisse Versa Wheat. I was insanely impressed by this and it's a style not often found in cans.
