Does GI Lolita 2011 hold any trade value? I came across a bottle in my cellar (i tend to lose thing down there) and was wondering if it's worth anything to someone else.

Post and ISO and see. It's not likely to be worth much since production for GI is up and Lolita is relatively available but a two year old Lolita may pull something slightly more than shelf value

Doubt it has much pull outside of local 4 local type trades. Might be a decent extra to send someone though, who doesn't have access to GI.

I'd be excited to see that as an extra, its a solid beer. Even though it came to Minneapolis, it wasn't on the shelf very long.

Locals... GI sours were much more rare a couple of years ago. Now they are pretty much permanent shelf beers at this point.

I'm on a bit of a trading pause, but otherwise yes. ISO it and if you don't get any hits shoot me a BM...

Juliet is amazing. Better than RR sour I've had yet.

Damn you really have Juliet just on the shelf where you are? I was just trying to make a joke since I thought it came and went quickly when it showed up. Give me a second to wipe this egg off my face.

There were at least 2-3 cases sitting on the floor when I was in there at the end of last week. The Lakeview Binnys had about a case's worth on the shelves, too. If I recall correctly, they all have a late January 2012 bottling date (though I forget when they actually came in)... I wonder if the 2013 Juliet is imminent?

I've only gotten Juliet and Lolita in trades, had no idea they were around $20 a bottle. Too rich for my blood.

they didn't used to be. when i first bought lolita it was around 15 bucks. the 2012 bottlings saw the price jump to about 20.

    RR 375's are $12 brewery averaging $14 retail. $20 for a 650 sour is a steal!

going by that metric, the best value in sour beers is probably lindemans cuvee renee. $11 for a 750 of gueuze, and actually pretty good unlike the "fruit" beers!

I believe Juliet was released at least a few months after it was bottled per Laffler's instruction at the time. So even if it is bottled soon, it may be awhile before it is released again.

Yep - plenty of it. Even more Madame Rose...

MA is so overloaded with beer these days that it's ridiculous, and sours in particular are just way overstocked given their cost and lower popularity level. Some stuff moves faster than others, but $20 sours are going to linger for a long time given all the options - Cascade, Cisco, Bruery, Goose Island, Jolly Pumpkin, oodles of Belgians... Cantillon is the only sour thing that really flies off shelves these days. I feel like we're only a year or so away from being in the same boat with barrel aged stouts too... Maybe there is a craft beer bubble after all...
