    Flying to LHR solo for one night to see a concert at the Barbican. So not much time to check out breweries around the city. Is there a pub/brewery/restaurant with local craft beer close or around Barbican. I will be meeting up with some of my UK buddies before the concert.

    Yes, The Jugged Hare in 49 Chiswell Street is located in a building that survived the Blitz, next door to the hideous Barbican Centre. This gastropub is divided in a bar area and a restaurant area, where booking might be essential. 9 taps, 4 or 5 of them cask, including their "own" Jugged Hare Pale Ale. Several new ticks for me. Good food in the restaurant, bar meals are also available.

    You could also try The Globe (a Nicholson's pub) in 83 Moorgate, and Doctor Butler’s Head in 2 Masons Avenue (a Shepherd Neame pub - if you need some cask ales from that brewery).
