I would miss most of the above suggestions - All Good Beer at hackney downs and Bermondsey has one of the most diverse selection of top UK beer and excellent prices/recommendations

Brew by Numbers and Moor Beer are both not to be missed on the mile

Greetings all, I'm curious if visiting the breweries themselves are worth the stop if time is limited.

or if you can get enough of cloudwater or BBno at places like mother kelly's, craftndraft, rake, & the king's arms.

will definitely be stopping by pressure drop / experiment though. appreciate the tips, thanks!

I would definitely hit the Cloudwater taproom, best brewery in the UK and they have loads of taps so for finding plenty of their beer in one places it's obviously great. They also always have their latest collaborations and a BA stout or two on as well so you get a range of styles. You would definitely find their stuff at the places you've listed above but I'd recommend the taproom. Their cans are also quite expensive in stores, you would be looking at paying £7 or so for one of their DIPAs at craftndraft for e.g. Taproom sells beer by the 1/3 of a pint from about £2 if you want small measures to try more stuff.

And then BBNo is next door, so you may as well call in there too...

Also I live v close to Bermondsey and work near Hackney so if you were able to bring any cans over for trade let me know!

They do, their new releases (Cloudwater) usually hit the London taproom on Wednesday but they should have a decent list available (they keep it up to date on Untappd too). All of the Bermondsey taprooms sell beer to go.

Can we show some love to Temple Beer House? I've been here a couple of times in my trips to London and they consistently have a great taplist of stuff ive never had. Granted, I am not from the UK, but when I come here, I am looking to try beers i've never had before. That is all.

    Hey hey,

Thanks for a great rundown of new craft spots.

Can someone recommend an old school pub for real ale and/or one for lunch/dinner and several decent pints. I’ll be staying near Euston, but I’m happy to get anywhere in the city for a can’t miss spot.

If you're doing the Beer Mile you should drop by the Royal Oak, my favourite pub in London. A genuine old-fashioned boozer and a Harveys tied house. Harveys Sussex Best is a must for anyone who wants to understand English beer. Plus they always sell cask Mild, the only pub in London I know to do so.

The Harp in Covent Garden is great for cask beer.
The Euston Flyer, a Fullers pub on Euston Road is OK. Decently kept cask and they have Fullers 1845 in bottles.

Then there's the Parcel Yard in King's Cross station. Fullers beers plus guest cask.

Can't argue with the Harp or the Royal Oak.

For reasonably central reasonably trad pubs, it's also worth checking out (among others) the Queen's Head on Acton Street (slightly tarted up Victorian style pub, mix of cask and keg, cheese / cold meat platters), the Seven Stars on Carey Street (tiny, eccentric, used to do good food), the Jerusalem in Clerkenwell (St Peters beers) and the Pride of Spitalfields off Brick Lane (classic cockney boozer still just about resisting gentrification).

Let us know how you get on!
