I'm a BA living in long beach hoping to start up a new bottle share group for the weekends. I see a lot of my local bottle shares meet at times during the week when I'm working. I'm 28, a physician, and live in the Belmont heights area. None of my friends drink good beer and I have an awesome collection of barrel aged bombers, barleywines and sours which are designed for sharing. Help a brother out and drink my beer!

I'm not too far from Long Beach. Definitely wouldn't mind meeting some like-minded folks and sharing some great brews.

Awesome.... What do you guys think about keeping the first one small? I know a lot of people have bottle shares at beachwood BBQ, how do they organize that? Didn't know you could bring your own beer to a brew pub.

I'm in Long Beach too. For the Beachwood bottleshares, we usually just roll up with the bottles. Note that if you go to the Seal Beach one during the dinner hour, you're pretty much gonna be screwed. Long Beach Beachwood may be a bit more conducive to a bottle share in the evenings

Is there a catch? Like a bottle fee? Or are they just that awesome

no they're just that awesome. the understanding though is that most people will order food or at least one beer. also, giving the bartenders some of the beer from the bottleshare is always nice

Count me in. I'm new to the craft beer game and haven't done a bottle share before but am definitely interested in getting together with some fellow beer lovers. I'm just down the street from Beachwood so that would be a perfect meeting place for me.

I'm down for this when we get this thing organized. I'm in Long Beach and have many bottles that need drinking. Down for Long Beach or Seal Beach Beachwood.

Ok sounds like we have a perfect venue. We have a good number of people interested too. Let's see what dates will work. For all of us who won't be picking up veritas, does April 19 work ?

As always I know we are not going to get a date that works for everyone. I have family in town that weekend and am taking them down to SD for a brewery tour so I can't make the 19th.

I'd be up for this if the number is still manageable. Do you envision bringing a variety of beer styles or focusing on some selected styles?

I've never been to a bottle share, what is a manageable number of people ? Of course too many would mean not getting an adequate taste of each beer. Is 8 a good number?

As for style, I think we can either pick a style and compare them all or just bring different styles. Each would be fun

I live in Bluff Heights, I'd participate in any bottle share that I can walk or take a bus to. I've built up a pretty big collection that has gotten a bit too big and I'm looking to drink down. I would definitely participate. I think Beachwood would be a pretty good location to have a share. I can't think of too many other venues in the area that would be as accomodating.
