I NEVER go down there but I'll be down there this next weekend and wanted some opinions on what some good places are for beer down there? Bars/bottle shops? Planning on going to Beachwood at least. Thanks!

My friend lives on Stearns! I'll be sure to check that place out!

    Thanks!

I would also say check out The Wine Country which is just up the street from Stearns on Redondo. Modest selection but good people.

Agree with Rollz. Both places have really nice people and a great selection.

Lazy Acres on Bellflower Blvd is very solid for bottles - my #1 with Stearns. Whole Foods on PCH is also good. Public Beer and Wine downtown is a place to purchase bottles and indulge on site with taps.
Besides Beachwood you should also check out Timeless Pints off Cherry Ave (by LGB).

For drafts I'd go with The Factory Gastropub on Atlantic Ave, Congregation Ale House (next to Beachwood Brewing in downtown), The Federal Bar (downtown), Brix, Simmzy's or Quinn's (Belmont Shore) and perhaps 4th Street Vine (small but cool and usually great brew)

There is Stearns, but I go to California Heights Market which is not far from The Factory.

After stopping in at Beachwood LB I would drive another 20 minutes to Beachwood Seal Beach and stop in at Whole Foods right off on PCH (5 minutes from Beachwood SB). And yes, I think you got screwd' with Pliny!! Even at 8. NOt worth it.
