Alright. What's the deal? I am from mid-to-western Suffolk and there is a dearth of the finely rated imperial stouts available to me. Founders IS, Ten-Fiddy, and, Stone IRS are nowhere I have ever seen, even though we are in the distribution footprint! I was told just last night, however, that Stone's was carried, but I had never seen it.

Not that I should be complaining with Yeti, SpeedWay, and Old Rasputin, but I can't help but wish for just a little more. So, is it just me, or am I missing something?

I am not sure why it is not out there but can say that all you mentioned are plentiful in Nassau. Upstate (non-Westchester), Westchester, NYC, Nassau, and Suffolk seem to have wide variations in timing and availability of beers.

Go to Barrage Brewing in Farmingdale and try their Famous Last Words. Very solid RIS. It is on tap now.

They're around, it just depends on where, and when, you go. I think a couple of those are at Port Jeff beverage right now. Ten-fidy is probably the most prevalent.

    cheers

I'm in western Suffolk too. Not a frequent RIS drinker, but in my most recent trips (last few months) to bottle shops in the area I've seen the following while browsing: BCBS (just 2 weeks ago at Beer City in N. Babylon), CCB Marshall Zhukhov, SN Narwhal, Brooklyn Black Chocolate, and Samuel Smith's. Pretty sure I've seen Stone and Ten-Fidy too.

Where have you seen Marshall Zhukov recently on a shelf in LI?

There's 5 plus month old TenFidy at Best Market in West Babylon just sitting there right on the shelves. $17.99 though.
There are a ton of RIS around at all the local distros as far as I know.

Stone IRS comes out next month and we should see it around LI soon after it's release. And like others have said Ten Fidy and Founders are around too.

U should try some locals like GSB, Long Ireland, and Barrage Famous Last Words.

Thanks for the reply, all. Sorry for the tone of my first post, I think it comes off a bit stand-offish.

The support is great. I am very excited to try Stone's IRS. Now that we have Bell's, what's the bet we'll see Expedition stout? I suppose it's too late for this season, but perhaps the end of 2014?
