Making a trip down to Harrisonburg next weekend for my brothers graduation and was wondering if there were any must hit stops along the way. I think its pretty much the I-81 corridor the entire way.

Planning on going to 3 Brothers while I'm in town, but what else should I be on the look out for?

I would stop at Al's/Pizza Boy Brewing. It's about a mile off of exit 61 near Harrisburg, PA. Lot of great stuff. Can get growlers and crowlers to go too. Not too much further down the road in Carlisle is Cafe Bruges (if you're into Belgian beers). It's a couple miles off exit 49.

I second the stop at Al's of Hampden/Pizza Boy. I've had multiple crowlers from them and they stay fresh for awhile. I opened one up 7 days after the fill and it was fresh as can be.

Definitely just hit Al's on the way. Once you're in Harrisonburg, check out Three Brothers for sure. You should also try to make it to Pale Fire, the brand new brewery in town. Badass taproom And the DIPA and saison are very, very tasty. Midtowne Bottleshop is your best option in town for bottles by far. If you're looking for a bar, try Billy Jacks but it might be crowded. Capitol Ale House is across the street though and has plenty of taps to choose from if the other spots are busy.

Pizza Boy, no question. Looks like it's halfway there, so you'll want some lunch. And you'll need something to sop up all the wonderful beer you'll be drinking. Take some crowlers home, too. If Sunny Side Up is still on tap you'll be winning some friends back home.

Okay so definitely stopping at Pizza Boy on the way down. I was considering going through DC on the way back to stop by DC Brau but it looks like their closed on Mondays? Any places where it's normally easy to grab a few of their sixers since they won't be open?

If you don't have to rush back or down there I'd go through Richmond area too. Hardwood and licking hole creek are some good spots. You can find DC brau most places but wings of Armageddon is brewery only. If you're in DC later in the day church key is the place to go.

if you're taking 95 back, you could stop at stateline liquors for your take home bottles.

troeggs would be an easy stop, although if you are stopping at Al's they may be too close together.

3 notch'd has a facility in Harrisonburg. Its a few blocks from Billy Jacks and Capitol Ale House.

When you get to Harrisonburg add Pale Fire to your list of places to stop. Its a new brewery that just opened up about a month ago and is putting out some solid beers. Also Three Brothers changed their name to Brother Craft Brewing but if you google for ether name it should come up.

As for bottles check out Midtowne Bottle Shop, Downtown Wine and Gourmet (closed Sundays) and Cap Ale.

Midtowne has 6 rotating taps that you can fill growlers with and have the best selection in the area.

Downtown Wine and Gourmet may have a few bottles that Midtowne doesn't but they are a little higher in price.

Cap Ale is a restaurant with 100 taps and a small bottle selection that you can get to go. There prices on more expensive 12oz bottles (like BA Avery beers) will actually be the best if you get it to go. Their food and service is ok. Sit at the bar. You can also get growler fills of most beers on draft.

If your looking for a bar or some good places to eat check out Jack Browns, Billy Jacks and Social BBQ. All downtown and actually in the same building.

Everyplace I mentioned is within a block or 2(besides Three Brothers). So just find a parking spot and walk around. If you have any questions feel free to hit me up. I live in Harrisonburg.
