I'm glad to see these guys are still putting out some awesome beer. The last few releases are supposedly great.
I really hope they can weather the storm. I think they were largely taproom focused with no can or keg distribution. The pick up window seems to be going smoothly but a recent Facebook post said there isn't usually a line.
I was supposed to go down there on March 13th and ended up pulling the plug. Now that I see how bad this is, I wish I would have gone then.

I think they're doing alright since they haven't resorted to distributing cans yet (which selfishly I would like but it wouldn't be a great sign) It can't be easy on the heels of their recent expansion. Can't wait to get back there and hit the Solid Gold popup... Everyone stay inside so we can go outside again asap!

Long Live is actually asking if there are more than a few people present to wait in your car, so I would hope there aren't significant lines. The very first mobile order I made it was a ghost town, but this past trip for the 4+3 Anniversary on Friday there was a short wait.

Still looking at a few releases per week it appears, and I'll be around for it, as well as the mobile ordering from Buttonwoods and Proclamation. Now that I'm not commuting to MA and you have to quarantine at home in RI for 14 days after any non-work related out of state trips, not like I have the luxury of stopping at Trillium or Yankee for MA beer needs anyway!

Bad Dudes (Buttonwoods collaboration) is supposed to be incredible.
Man do I wish I lived closer to Providence (and had RI plates).

So what is the deal? Can only RI folks stop at the brewery now? I thought it was ok to drive through the state from out of state, as long as you didn’t stay in RI....times are crazy......

I don't know about actual enforcement, but Govs Baker and Raimondo both have orders that if you travel to any other state for a non work related purpose, you must self-quarantine for 14 days upon return. Plus while RI is not routing EVERY out of stater to a rest stop to be served a 14-day quarantine order by the national guard like at the CT border on I-95 (greetings NYers!), the state police is probably selectively pulling over OOS plates crossing in from MA on I-95 and I-195.

So it depends on your personal comfort, while there is not a total 1984-style surveillance state *yet*, it is against the law. I am going to take a work-related trip from RI to 128 next week, and have resolved to exit my car for no other reason. However, if there is a contactless curbside pickup service for anything (beer, food, etc.), I don't think that is violating the intent of the order. Stopping and going into a store would be a BIG violation of the order if you did not self-quarantine afterward.

As mentioned in another thread, Bottles shop in Providence had an Other Half can drop the other day (this happened although the corresponding Finback Whale Watching fest was canceled). They were concerned about the perception that likely half their customers would have had Mass plates, so they decided to not accept orders for those with MA billing addresses. However I have not heard of any other shops or breweries doing the same.

Tl;dr MA and RI breweries are both killing it so you need to REALLY want a certain release to cross state lines at this point.

Fair enough, bootlegging this brand of Coors will really make you a "Bad Dude" like Burt Reynolds.

Was planning on running to Long Live today to stock up on beer but bring from MA I guess I shouldn’t... bummer mate.

Are you sure you couldn't do that? You aren't staying anywhere or having contact with anyone.

It looks like they might have crowlers back today. It is a slightly better deal than the growlers because of the new glass rule.
I actually don't know why the crowlers are priced where they are. If you compare cost per oz with cans, the crowlers should be just over $7 but they are $8.50. Does a crowler can cost $1 or are they a pain to fill or something?

I was going to do the same. Tilted Barn > Proclamation > Buttonwoods > Long Live. Looks of DIPAs available generally and not a lot else.

I feel the same way, but RI is evidently taking this border thing pretty seriously so best to wait unfortunately... good FOMO therapy I suppose

Actually Proc appears to have just one DIPA, but six(!) different oak aged wilds, a milk stout, and a fruited sour (strawberry & raspberry). And Buttonwoods released a canned saison ("R.I. Silver") in 12 oz 6-packs which I picked up yesterday but haven't tried yet.

Forgot to say, Long Live and Buttonwoods can fulfill online orders at any time, but Proclamation orders need to be in an hour before opening (11am weekends, 2pm weekdays). They get all the orders divvied up inside the taproom area before open, so the wait for curbside is minimized. Not sure about Tilted Barn's timing, haven't been for a few months.

Tilted Barn says they need about 20 min, did it yesterday on my way home from work and it was fine.

I know this a RI thread, but for those in MA that don’t want to venture down there, I made the trip to Stoneface in NH this afternoon instead. A little over an hour each way from Boston and lots to choose from in cans (Pilsners, IPAs, DIPAs) and bottles (RIS, BA Doppelbock, multiple sours). I preordered online and arrived to no line at 12:30. Timed it with a Smash Burger and sweet potato fries to go for the return trip home. Highly recommend.

Stoneface wishes it was on Long Live's level.

    Just kidding.

    Kind of.

I enjoy the creativity! I've had very little from Long Live other than IPAs and DIPAs, which they do very well. That said, I will stack Stoneface's breadth and depth up against just about anyone locally - they do pilsner, berliner weisse, pale ale, low abv IPAs, IPAs, DIPAs, dark ales, bocks, porters (one of my favorites in the category), sours, stouts, etc. - and most of them are done extremely well. Their restaurant is an added bonus when you visit the Seacoast of NH - good pub food, very reasonably priced. Stoneface is one of the best breweries in NH, in my opinion, and still one of the most underrated in the region.

    All in good fun.
I have only had a handful of beers from Stoneface and they were all ipas but they were pretty good. I have nothing bad to say about them. I haven't been to the brewery. I will have to give it a shot once this whole thing blows over.
