Anyone ever done this? I'm brewing up (hopefully in the next month) an English barleywine that I'm hoping to be around 9.5% abv, or so. My wife just got me a tap-a-draft system for my homebrewing, so's that I don't have to bottle as much (esp. with my low-gravity session beers which I prefer to drink in 16-20oz increments). Could I bulk age this barleywine in these bottles until November or so? I got the better lids for the tap-a-draft system, as the ones it comes with are supposedly prone to leakage. Still, it's a screw-on cap. Is there a serious chance of oxidation, etc over that long of a time? Anyone ever done this?

I haven't had a problem yet. Currently I have a bottle going on 3 months and it is still carbonated well as far as I can tell. The bottle is still firm. I wrapped the threads with Teflon which I think helped.

I have done an 8% Abby Brown for about 9 months with no issues. No teflon tape involved, but it seems like a good idea. Im also about to put a belgian tripel in the fridge thats been in there about 6 months.

    Good luck
