I don't think it's necessary to state why I want to brew beer. It's a great experiment that I've wanted to try for a long while.

So I have a kitchen table full of carboy, grain, malt, hops...tomorrow I cook.

I have to give credit to my LHBS: Adventures in Home brewing, Ann Arbor Mi.

Walked me through "nearly" everything I needed. They were out of stock of confidence, but was told I'd gain that as long as I paid attention to what I was doing. I live in a smallish apartment and my brewguru was up to the task of assembling a system to fit my needs. Then cut the recipe to the proper proportions. I'm going to start with 2 gallon batches.

First brew...Bass Ale clone. figured I couldn't get too jacked out of line with that, so that's what it is.

Congrats! LHBS employees are great resources, get to know them well and they will take care of you.

Can I ask what yeast you are using?

Have fun! I had no idea how much I would enjoy brewing until I did it.

Adventures is a good shop, it is my LHBS. The owners are good guys, the people on the floor know their stuff, and some are outstanding homebrewers.

Good luck with your first brewday.

So, it's supposed to look like this? I think the most interesting discovery, was that uncooked hops smell like a good pesto and once cooked look kinda gross..

It smelled good, so hopefully it'll taste good...
