I've had a IIPA on the yeast cake for 5+ weeks. I'm not sure what I'm doing I just haven't had much time to commit to brewing lately. What are the side effects of leaving it in the primary for that long?

I think your beer is just fine. In my opinion it takes a long time for yeast autolysis to occur in the homebrewing setup.

It is time now for you to package your beer if you have the time available.

    Cheers!

The yeast will be fine, but since it's been sitting so long, I'd suggest dry hopping that bitch again for 5-7 days before packaging.
