Nope, but I'm now hunting this down. Limbo is one of my favorite go to easy to get IPA's.

If I am not mistaken, this one is still a couple weeks out from being released.

I had some at the brewery a few weeks ago and it was pretty good- not exceptional or groundbreaking, but definitely tasty. I'll pick up a pack when it comes out (if it's not a month old like most of their distro seems to be at my local bevy and supermarket).

It was comparable to Grapefruit Sculpin but with less hop presence and more citrus.

Hard to motivate to pick up an IPA that's infused with citrus flavors when there are brewers that do a wonderful job of coaxing those same flavors out of the hops themselves. Sounds like it's worth a try though; it would be good to see these styles of IPAs turn out well and proliferate to provide breweries an alternative to scrapping for hop contracts when they're seasonally tight.

I agree wholeheartedly. The recent seemingly endless proliferation of fruit additives/infusions to IPAs has resulted in mostly "misses" (perfumey, medicinal). Too much fruit that borders more on a wine cooler taste than a beer. With today's brewing techniques, multitude of hops and general brewing knowledge any decent commercial brewery should be able to replicate any fruity flavor (pineapple, grapefruit, mango, blood orange) for an IPA using hops only. Flavored stouts, sours and Berliners are a different story but a "flavored" IPA can be accomplished by hops only.

Oh, I completely agree with you both. Citrus beers are a fun thing to try, but are rarely something I order more than once. Put a nice juicy hop flavor in a beer and I will order it time and time again.

Something to note about Long Trail that may explain this beer's release is that they have a strict limitation on how many hops are used per batch and it's definitely under the (huge) amount needed to get those lovely complex flavors that are so popular right now. This fact is why I'm so impressed with (regular) Limbo! It's a hell of a recipe they've developed that utilizes less hops and creates more flavor.

Gotta agree there. It seems almost redundant with the hazy citrus IPAs/DIPAs that exist today.

I'm gonna compare a bottle of Citrus Limbo to a bottle of Stone Enjoy By 10/31/16 Tangerine IPA.

Love Limbo and the fact that's it's not a hazy orange juice clone. Still my go to easy to get sixer of IPA. Every time I have one I always think that it's kind of a nice break from the normal fruit juice beers.

I'm interested to see what this will do to my perception of Limbo.

Late to the party but I finally rolled the dice on a six pack and thought it was pretty damn good for what it is. It's tilting towards being almost shandy-like so it's not something I'd reach for to scratch an IPA itch, but as something to mix things up once in a while it hits the spot.

I think it's much better than Grapefruit Sculpin actually, and I like it better than regular Limbo because the citrus seems to cover the yeast flavor that I don't love.

I really liked it as did my wife. It's a nice change up from Limbo and to me does not taste artificial at all. Will buy more again.
